Porky here: I wins the Good boy award!!!!!!

My parents had a scary night last night and I did too!!! They left to go to the city to pick up their new car after dad got of werk. A 2-hour drive from home. They made it safely and got their new car. They went to the gas station and it started to rain, no big deal they thought.

Then its starts thunder and lightning. What?! Its February in Wyoming!! :crazyeyes: Oh, I forgot to mention the hurricane force winds that went all day and all night yestaday!! Then as soon as the thunder and lightning starts, it starts snowing sideways!!! They were out of the city at this point on the trek through no man's land, to home. Then it starts snowing so hard they can't even see if they are on the right side of the road!!! They decided when they got to a safe point, they would turn both vehicles around and go back 10 miles to find a hotel. A nice trucker man was behind my mama and he turned on his hazard lights and sat on the road behind until both cars got turned around. Then, he turned around too! Mama and dad made it to da firstest gas station and stopped to call hotels. Mama was so scared she was shaking, cause she doesn't like driving in that kind of weather. Finally they found a hotel and stayed there for the night.

Meanwhile, I was stuck at home, ALONE and our power went outs cause of da snow!!! :crazyeyes:

I climbed under the blankies in my crate and huddled in for the night. I cried a few times, but I did NOT potty or poo in there ALLLLLL night!!! Den I fell asleep, next thing I know, I'm waking up cause I hear my mama. I have never been so happy to see my mama in my whole life!! Mama said she was super proud of me for being good and not making messes in my crate. (Like I would do that?!)

Then I gots to potty FINALLY!!!! Mama and I planning a nap today cause she didn't sleep well, too worried about me, stuck at home. Total, I was abadoned from 5 p.m. until 9:30 a.m.!!!! NOT COOL!!! But, mama is making me some treats so its okay.

Hi everyone- It took us an almost 3 hour drive on icy roads to make it home this morning, but we made it!! I was so worried about my poor little guy stuck home alone and then I find out at 2 a.m. the power went out for about 3 hours. He did so good. We are now going to come up with a "snow plan" in case we ever get stuck in that position again. We had checked weather before we left, and they said other than wind, the weather would be fine. At least we can say we survived the thunder-snow hurricane of 2012. Had Porky been with us, we would not have been able to find a hotel room last night!! All the hotels that had rooms left were not pet friendly. So in a way, I'm thankful he was home. In total, we only got about 2-3 inches of snow. (I think the wind blew it all away!!)

We think you all deserve an award for bravery under severe duress. We are ever so proud of all of you, Porky and parents. Enjoy your new car once the weather gets safe again.

Porky, you deserve a MEDAL!! What a super good boy!! Poor mommy and papa. So worried about you and you did the Home Alone thing just splendidly. High tail wags and smoochies for the GOOD BOY!

Um....Parker, dear. Take a lesson from your big cousin okay? I bet you're a good boy too.

Glad Porky was OK use to have a pet sitter that lives on the corner from us but she had open heart surgery so not doing that any longer so up a creek here too its a worry alright. I hope you can come up with a plan.Good boy Porky.

Thanks everyone! We are planning on giving my grandmother a key to our house and a close friend. Chances are one of them would be available in a situation like this in the future, if needed. Porky loves grandma and Jenny, so he wouldn't be scared if they came in. Porky's allergies, sniffles, etc... are still pretty bad!! We haven't really had a winter, so it hasn't killed off all the allergens this year. Both of us are taking a sick day today and just bumming around the house. Porky has a yucky nose and I have had a really bad cold!! Hopefully we will be all better Monday!

dis is Parker: Porky ----- you is a berry berry good boy ummmm like me. It is berry berry scarry staying home all by yourself.... I always hide in da closet under Daddy's dirty clothes when I am by myself. I has never been by myself all night, I don't fink it would be fun. It's not fun being all by myself at da spa eben doh dere are odder puppers there. Momma says no more spas for me. My brudder is going to look after me, dey will make sure!!! Dat allergy fing was no fun edder. I feels your pain Porky. I hope you feel betters soon!!!!
