Holy cow, a WHOLE TURKEY!

Actually, it is supposed to sit for awhile anyway to let the juices reabsorb before carving, so it's ok that it sat there and stared at you for 20 minutes.  I don't know how to carve either.  I doubt the puppers cared (or your leftover-eating BF).

I don't use a meat thermometer, never have.  I Figure If it ain't done by the time I hack it up.....I can always put it back in the oven or nuke the bits that didn't get cooked. 
I can't carve a bird, I just hack at it. .  Come to think of it......I can't even carve a roast properly. :2funny:

 :apls: Way to go!  Sounds like you did yourself proud.  Now all of the leftovers will make up for the slimy giblet-turkey fat grossness of the prep work.  It just takes practice to get all the timing right.  :cussing:
