The weather outside is frightfull!!!!

Thats why I have to get all geared up to go out in those cold windchills!!

It sure took along time to get all the winter rigging on but I must say it makes the outdoors much more enjoyable!!

I'm going out cross country skiing today!, prolly spend most of the time riding in the backpack the folks got set up for me!
It will be good to be able to get a ride instead of haveing to run alongside like my partner Millie!

Not sure if I'd rather just sit and soak up the sun on my favorite chair though!!!

I'll let you's know how the ski trip goes!!!

I was just talking to a co-worker who went to Red River New Mexico this past week end and went cross country skiing for the first time - she loved it !!!

What a great outfit, where did you get it? It looks like it covers a lot! I have been looking in vain for something like this, the ones I've found that are waterproof with the legs either pull when she walks or she will get her short little legs caught up inside. Let us know how it works and how your day went!

kind of pricey and still requires some modifications.. those doxies have such small legs..

the body length was perfect as we gave the length and the girth of him before we ordered, should have done the leg measure as well, on reflection,,, oh well...lol

I guess that they also do custom orders and that may be the way to go for the best fit possible on the leg length. It is a real nice suit though!!! looks to be of excellent construction :thumb:

Skiing was fun,, Ceaser was not sure just what was going on with everyone having long boards strapped to their feet!! :crazyeyes:
He kept whining and yodeling all thru...
He wanted to run,,,as always he wanted to lead the way mostly and his excellent sense of smell led him to a ruffed grouse hidden under the snow!! :thumb:
The Standard Poodle Millie has learned to pay close attention when Ceaser starts to get that nose working!!! :thumb:
After running for awhile he would look up at me and I would know what he was saying... time for a ride!!

Up he would go into the backpack and would be peering around the front to see just where we were going!! :thumb:
It was so cute! We were all cracking up!..

He slept real well that night!

I think we may have another member to our ski club!

Those pics are GREAT! LOL the one of Caesar in the backpack is just too cute! Looks like he and Millie are having a ball there. The snow is beautiful I like that last photo too.

Thanks for the link! I went to the site but I don't see the snow suit? I see other great looking outfits though, the ones I've bought in the past have never worked (I hate to think of how much $$ I tossed down the drain!) and I kept hoping to find one that moves with the dog but never did til now. So I'm really excited to hear about this place. I wonder though if they don't sell the snow suit anymore? I am going to call them on Monday and ask them some questions, but I'm sure Hallie is going to be getting at least one new coat of some kind. I like that you can cut it to fit and it won't unravel!

Dee Dee,
I would think the Waterproof Bodysuit would be perfect for Hallie. It is still heavyweight and lined with microfleece for warmth, yet is waterproof to take care of all that rain you get there. It also covers all of her, including her abdomen.
I like the idea of using their Lycra bodysuit instead of an e-collar. Would be much easier to deal with. Of course, if you were trying to keep the dog from scratching at their face or ears it wouldn't help, but legs or abs-it would be wonderful for!

I think you are right Teresa! I can't wait to get one, I just hate getting Hallie out of the van for a walk when it's wet, she's a trooper but I know she doesn't appreciate it that much. These are the best rain gear jackets I've seen.

Yes wouldn't this be so much nicer than an e collar!

GREAT shots!! That looks like so much fun and the dogs both look very happy!

My gosh I can't get over the beautiful scenery...I would like to go up to the mountains here to get shots of snow for painting but you hasta drive over icy roads to get there and I'm a big chicken on slick roads lol.It looks really beautiful there though, Ceasar coudln't be any cuter in that backpack with his parka on.

Hmmm...I've been trying to contact them for a week now and they never answer the phone, I've left messages and no one calls back. I want to talk to them before I order the coat to be sure I'm getting the right size since when I enter her measurements, it says it's outside of the size chart. Did you have any problems with them or did you contact them before you ordered?

it took awhile for him to get used to the cold but now he has no problem and actually likes it I think. kinda/

Dee Dee, we ordered online and got a size 2.. it fits perfect cept for the legs are too long! seems to be a common prob with these Doxies..
If I recall,, Ceaser was 16" long from shoulders to base of tail and 16" in girth around the deepest part of the chest ( you'd think he'd be a box! lol) and found the size 2 to be a perfect fit, if you can get them to special work the leg length I think you'll be very happy with the product! not sure why they aren't answering the phone unless they have an extended holiday season!

I just now FINALLY got someone to answer the phone...then we hung up and I called back immediately because I forgot to ask how you wash the coats and got the machine again! Augh! But she did tell me it should be a size 2 so I am glad you confirmed that with Ceasar's size. Boy he must be long and lean...Hallie isn't overly long but she is very slim and lighter boned and her measurements are 13" long and 18" girth! I am off to order one right now. Do you know how the coats are to be cleaned?

Yeay I finally just got one ordered. I ordered a hat too, but they didn't have a sizing chart for that so I just ordered small. LOL. They sure didn't make it easy to place an order but I'm looking forward to getting the coat. I'm so glad you posted pics!

We need to get Porky one of those snowsuits! Thanks for sharing the link. Our coldest month was January last year -40 for 3 weeks straight!! So that could come in handy. That way when we get there this year, I'm not running out there, placing him down on a potty spot then picking him up and running back in. That was NOT fun for either of us. Wyoming winters can be so cold and nasty! Looks like your skiing trip was tons of fun.
