Advice needed

I have twitter account on which I follow a few newspapers, chefs, news people and friends.  I don't have many followers, but those I have are more work related.  However, yesterday I acquired a new follower - someone whom I don't care for because of some of the things she's done to me in the past - let's just say she lies and can be a very vindictive person when you call her on anything.  My problem is that I so want to block her and just leave it at that, but with her past record I'm leery about doing anything that might stir up her ire.  At this point I can block her so she won't see  what I post and not be able to tweet me back, but knowing her she will post my nickname all over Twitter and I will be bothered by a lot of crazies, who live only to make everyone's life miserable.

Any suggestions?

Block her. She may not even figure out she has been blocked as generally they are not even notified.
I block lots of people for inappropriate or offensive comments, or tasteless jokes and they are not aware.

Bummer.... I don't do Twitter, so I don't know how easily she would be able to notice....I would say to block her too......
