says Brekke.  Momma got tired of me humping my brothers and scooting around yesterday, so in I went today.  We met a huge black and white Great Dane, and a lot of chihuahuas, plus schnauzers, kitties, and some Heinz 57s.  There were two gorgeous Bassett hounds - Mom's words, not mine.  When I saw the vet, she had me weighed, checked my temperature - I was 103.4, and I was tender back there a bit, so I had to have a blood test, and now I have to take antibiotics until they are gone, as per Dr. Dhaliwahl.  Robinton's favorite tech told Mom again how badly they all felt about Mocha.  Mom says I have a slight anal gland infection so I get to - er, I mean I have to eat chicken and rice for a week.  My sister and brothers are rejoicing because they get to have some too, since I have to eat that!  :headbang:

Poor little Brekke. But the worst is over. Now for the chicken and rice!!!!!!

Julia, I was wondering how Brenda is doing. I still think about her and Mocha a lot. That is just about the worst thing I've heard in a long time.

D'OH! Just saw your response to my asking about Brenda. Glad she's doing OK. I bet it breaks her heart to see the others looking for her. When we lost Ilsa, we let Gretchie smell her and say her goodbyes. I really think it worked. When we got home, she went to the last bed Ilsa used and gave it a good sniff. Then it was like, "OK, I understand. She's gone." She never looked for her. Of course, that was all planned. Mocha was totally different. My point is, that last scent really makes a difference for them. Unfortunately, for Brenda's dogs, there was no closure.

Exactly, Delia - Bella had come home and Mocha was still there.  Lassie was still at home because she didn't need any shots.

When Gretl passed, the others knew, because she was in the disputed bed until I took her in for cremation.  When Siglen passed, Brekke knew and was scratching at the door to tell me or ask for help - again, closure.  I don't remember how it went with Heidi, since she was pts at the vet's, but I think I had a towel with her, and the others sniffed that.
