My niece just got a new dog brought her by Wednesday Abby is her name suppose to be a Chiweenie  she looks like a Miniature Pincher to me with natural ears & tail but what do I know. They got her at the SPCA she is suppose to be a year or year & a half old already had a litter of pups. Now all fixed shots & Micro chipped. They tell me they are going to Tennessee on vacation taking the dog with them found out she is not house broke she pooped in my living room. I get a call tonight saying they cannot take the dog could I keep her for a week ask the old man he says yes so guess we are going to have 3 dogs.Papbouv

Perhaps yours can inform the newbie that poopin' is best done outdoors, and you'll have him all house-trained when the new adoptive parents return!....if only it were that easy!
In the meantime, how exciting to have company...

Have a sneaky hunch that may have been the plan all along Abby also will run out the door if she gets a chance too. Explained to them how to train them to stop that. Looks like I will be training two things.?Feel sorry for the little dog she was at the SPCA for about a month they said then with them for a week now with us for a week she will be so confused. She growls and has a fit when Buddy tried to sniff her while she was in her crate. The Rat terror across the street was barking so Abby barked too at least she is quite in her crate.

I can't imagine getting a new dog who is not potty trained and then asking someone else to take care of it while I went on vacation.
As I get OLDER,  I am getting real good at saying "NO ! "

It does sound as if you are a great friend, relative,  and dog lover.

I think since Patches is 4 years old she is a big help in teaching Abby to go outside have not found anything in the house will black light the carpet soon. Yes I did take Pictures maybe too big hope not have problems in making them smaller here is Abby the Chiweenie.
