It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you guys that my sister had to let her 15 year old girl, Gretel, pass over to the bridge.  She was 15, almost 16 if she had made it to June.  She was almost totally deaf, her eyes weren't very good, and she was having bad dementia.  On her last day, my sister took her riding in the car, got her a cheeseburger, and had some quality cuddle time.  As we all know, it is one of the hardest things to do, but you do it for love.  Good bye sweet girl, you will be greatly missed.  Here is a recent picture of Gretel, taken last Fall I believe.

Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.

How heartbroken your sister must be.  Gretel's deteriorating condition sounds exactly like my dear Madison's.  They weren't meant to live that way.  Your sis did the most loving thing for Gretel.  Still, it hurts sooo bad.

Please tell your sister how very sorry we are that she has had to send sweet Gretel to the Bridge.  That patient expression on her gorgeous little face says it all - they love us to the very end and trust us to understand and love them enough to relieve their suffering too.  R.I.P. Gretel, enjoy your health restored over the Bridge and look out for your Mummy who will miss you greatly now and join you again one day.
