so far we are still here they keep saying go to you safe room don't have a safe room nor a basement so we do not pay much attention to the weather people any more or even the sirens. The sirens are at the Fairgrounds about 2-3 miles from our house there can be a Tornado miles away and the sirens go off here then the weather people stay on the air for hours and hours for the last three days that is all that is on
Maybe I'm crazy but I think the sirens should only go off in the area were the Tornado is other wise people that have safe rooms will be there for hours and hours. We have one weatherman that tries to scare everyone. Just grumpy I guess from listening to the weather people for three days.

That's all right . . . :comfort:

You can be as grumpy as you want as long as you and Patches and Buddy are safe. There's always the bathtub. H :comfort: Will you get Buddy and you both in it? Now's the time to train him to lie down with you in the tub.

Stay safe - Auntie Keren and the Herd      . . . and Coquita BunAnna

Have to admit I was thinking about where I would go.  I have an unfinished 1/2 basement where really half of it is a crawl space under the back of the house.  the part under the stairwell is not dug out...dirt goes up under the steps mostly....so could not hide under stairwell.  The bathroom has a hand made bathtub area which is basically linoleum surrounding the tub, and the back wall of it, just covers the window that was on that wall so the tub is not  very safe either.  Also have huge trees in back, one sorta in corner of my yard and then the dang black walnut in neighbors yard.  I swear both those rise well about the 2 story houses on both sides of me, so if either comes down on my house  there would be major damage!

There really is no room that is far from windows. Thankfully however the house is sturdy and not like a prefab one.  It was built in 1871....so has seen many storms.  Should be much sturdier than mobile home I used to live in!!

I guess in this day and age it really is important for us to have  "escape plans" or emergency plans.  Am tempted to ask someone who comes to do service on my house to carry a lawn chair down there just in case I have to go into the basement!!
