Auntie Dee sent the Dynamic Duo stuffed "chippies" (well, they are really raccoons but out of respect for King Sol everything smaller than them with 4 legs is a chippy).  First Max claimed them both, which was funny because his first HuMOM said he didn't like toys......  Kirby only likes Pooh (a puppet he has had since we got him) and "red bone" - which is a stuffed squeaky bone that is the same size as him.  Oh, and any toy he thinks might irritate someone if he has it.  :nana:
Yesterday when I came home from work (remember we are struggling with the whining and crying when we leave) Kirby brought me one of the "chippies" and he and Max played for a HALF HOUR taking it out of each others mouth and racing around with it.  It was like "hot potato" doxie style.  LOL.   :2funny: Was hilarious to watch, and I am thinking maybe they are just bonding in a different, slower way than Sol and Kirby did.
Later in the evening the tail got ripped off the chippy (Max says sowwy Auntie Dee) and he was ceremoniously de-stuffed (joint effort).  Stuff-free and squeakerless, the raccoon carcass is now a coveted "snuggly" - currently residing UNDER Max.  LOL  :hello2:
Thanks for the entertainment Auntie Dee - and for the advice from all of you to have more patience with the "bonding time".

Danni has quite a collection of destuffed stuffies all of which are in the hospital.  Have you tried leaving the radio or tv on for them while you are gone?  Danni likes the Real Housewives franchise while the boys had to have PBS on.  Glad they are bonding, it all takes time.

No worries here on the destuffing/tail pulling of the toy, Max!  Sarge said to tell you that you did him proud of pulling the tail off and then both Kirby and you destuffing the toy!!  Sarge's goal when the boys get new stuffed toys is to immediately de-tail or de-ear them and then destuff them!  They have a lot of "trophies" of destuffed toys and they love them.  The only toys that he will not destuff is the Loofa dogs!

We're happy to hear that the boys are working on their bonding!

I agree. Hilde likes to rock with oldies on the cable music channel.

Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.

Well the Chippies lasted "destuffed" a lot longer than they would have with my boys.  So funny how the old girls will play gently with toys, just carrying them around in their mouths, while the boys are on a search and destroy mission.  I have sooo many deflated stuffies around here!!  Sounds like they had fun.
