I had to say goodbye to my Solly.  Solomon was 11 years old when he left.  I still miss my sweet boy so much even though I have my Hilde now.  Until we meet again Solly memories will have to do.

Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.

I know the feeling and I do know both of  my boys are looking after their little sissy and whispering in her ear.  Danni does the same thing Sam did when I would work in my office, he would come in look at me and when I'd say almost done, give me 5 more minutes he'd leave and come back in 5 minutes.

Cheers to Solly!
When we got Solomon, the idea was to call him Solly.  I even had a treat jar and a Christmas stocking that said SOLLY.  He just was never a "Solly" - he ended up "Sol".  His official name was King Solomon, but it was rare to call him anything besides "Sol".  Or "Mumma's dog".  ;)
I bet they are friends at the rainbow bridge.....

Wow - that happened while I was away from the site.  And we lost our Luther in August of 2009.  I have dreams of him often - they really stick with us, don't they?  King Sol and Luther are romping together, I'm sure!

Awwwwww Karen,  thanks so much for sharing those pictures.  It was such a fun time with you, Guinness, and your son.  Thanks again, it makes me smile when I look at them.

It feels more like hours than years, we remember him so well, it is lovely to see his little face again. Thanks, Darcel, for sharing the piccies and thanks to Auntie Karen too.

I think we've all been there.   The years do pass quickly.   As painful as it is to lose a furkid, it does give us the opportunity for new friends and new memories.   I think the enrichment of our lives is proportional to the number of four-legged friends that we've had over the years.  Do I wish all of my furkids at Rainbow Bridge could still be here?   Yes, but that's beyond our power as humans.  Instead, I can remember fondly the various characters that I have been honored to have been part of their lives, and look forward to the good times with my current pair, and for new friends who may not even be born yet.
