Poor Zeke.  I tossed him a couple of table scraps last night, some steak and some mashed potatoes.   It triggered a tummy bumper, or possibly a return of his pancreatitis.   Margie took him to the vet, and he got medication, but he is still feeling pretty miserable.   The vet said no more table scaps.   As he gets older, he is going to be even more sensitive.  This time we caught it even earlier than last time.   Of course, no hooman food for Zeke means no hooman food for Zora as well, even if she is more miniature garbage disposal than miniature dachshund.  Zora could eat rocks and not have tummy problems.  Zeke just looks at food the wrong way and he gets a tummy bumper.

Poor baby.

I hope he gets to feeling better soon.

I feel your pain - my older ones have had tummy issues of late.... and I can't remember the last time I gave them a bite of what I was eating.....  They sure try though  :thumb:

Poor Zeke.  While we do limit the hooman fud, Bonnie does love to try to convince me that she is soooo hungry.  Sometimes I give in if it's not too spicy.  Usually fruits and veggies, though I did put a small piece of Taquito in her Kong last night.  She thought that was the bomb.  My girl has a cast-iron tummy.

We discovered today that Zeke's problem is not a tummy bumper.  It's a pinched nerve in his neck.    That doesn't me he gets a reprieve from the "no hooman food" policy.   We're going to have to take him back in to the vet to get this treated, though.

Ouch, poor Zeke and poor you.  We hope the vet can relieve his discomfort quickly and he´s feeling better soon. Rays coming your way.

Poor Zeke! Hate those spinal problems in doxies. It's way too common.  :dontknow: Let us know what the vet says I hope he has a fast and full recovery.
BTW Hallie has a bad tummy too, previcid and prescription food has really helped, made a new puppy out of her.

David, Kleine, my 15+ year old toothless wonder, can eat ANYTHING and not get sick, where all the younger woobies can have tummy problems.  I know we shouldn't feed them table scraps, but an occasional string bean or carrot still make their way to Kleine.  Hope Zeke feels better soon.

We took Zeke to the vet today.   It pretty much was what I thought, pinched nerve and muscle spasms.   The vet didn't think there was any disc injury as Zeke's range of motion was very good.  He's been given Rimadyl and a muscle relaxant.   The also advised that I take his collar off to keep any pressure off his neck.   Zeke has had the first dose, so he's a bit stoned right now.

I began to get a bit concerned that Zeke wasn't responding to the meds as quickly as Rudy-angel used to.   However, this evening, Zeke really seemed more like himself and he gave himself a really good shake with ears flapping, which he had been reluctant to do the last couple of days.

BonniesMom

Good shake offs and ear flaps are always a good thing.  Good for you Zeke!
