Smokey (renamed by my gf and the pup's rescuer) is now in a nice warm house.  Today "Angie" went back out to the house where this little, no more that 12 week old puppy, was and once again it was raining and the puppy was out in the rain trying to get in  There were about 10 people in the house including the child of 12 who wanted this puppy in the first place.  The child wasn't one bit interested or concerned that his puppy was banging against the door  and wanted in from the cold and rain. Smokey is probably a chiweenie or something like that.

So, Angie went right up to the door and rang the bell.  She explained herself tactfully and explained to the woman that she can't leave her puppy out in the rain.  And that if her dog gets sick, it would be about a $400.00 vet visit That got the woman's attention and then the woman admitted that she was overwhelmed and admitted that the boy didn't seem to want to play with the puppy anymore....after ONE week!     Angie offered to take the dog and "help train it" but what we're hoping to do is to convince the woman to surrender it to rescue.  Angie will call the woman tomorrow and propose a very good home for the pup.  Stacey from Foxy Doxy said she could take him or another rescue friend of hers, whom I've met.  He's very capable as well as Stacey.  (Stacey is pretty full right now, that's why we might have the other rescue take Smokey IF the woman agrees that giving the dog a good home is the smartest idea where she can walk away from it without any guilt.)

Smokey is now with my friend, "Olga" as Angie is living in someone else's house right now.  Angie will take the pup during the day and Olga at nighttime.  Olga has a doxie shitzu mix and they are totally adorable together!  Once the lady agrees to give up the dog.....pray that she will.....Smokey will go into rescue and into a fine home hopefully soon.

WOOT !!!!   :hello2:

I would be willing to bet if they just laid low and didn't make the effort to contact the woman, they will probably never hear from her again.  Just want to slap her.

Bless you and your friends !!!

what I find funny is what kind of training the mother expects the puppy to get.  There is no training for dogs being left outside on their own 24/7 !!
i bet she agreed because she just does not want to deal with it! Probably one of those dumb purchases people make when a kid has tantrum in store, and parent buys what they are demanding just to get the tantrum stopped!

Hopefully the mother does not get creative and say that if you want pupper she will sell pup to you, and name some inflated price!!!  of course then is the time to bring out the big guns and indicate what the fines are for dog abuse in their locality(lack of shelter, water and food)!!

At the risk of being arrested for stalking, Angie and I went back to the house today, knowing puppy's people were out of town for the day.  No sign of puppy anywhere and believe me, we even peeped through the window.  The good news (I hope that's what happened) is the people took puppy with them.  Good thing because as soon as Angie dropped me at my house, not 5 minutes later, it started raining buckets.  (7:22 pm same day)  Phone just rang.  It was Angie and she said she heard from Puppy's people.  Since they were gone all day, they took puppy over to his doggy mom's house and he got to spend the day there playing with Mom and some siblings.  Isn't that the greatest?  I am so happy!!  The people actually are willing to do what's right for puppy!  I consider this case closed and this Operative is now retired.

So glad to hear this positive outcome.   GOOD FOR YOU and ANGIE!!!   :angel4:
I have always said there are two kinds of ignorant: " on-purpose" ignorant and accidental ignorant.  I first try to give people the benefit of the doubt and then clue then in.
If after that they are still a-****s, then I cut them no slack.
