Buddy is driving me nuts still scratching, pretty much all his toes have hot spot type sores on them.I give him antibiotic s in the am & pm spray the Allercaine on him also give him 25mg of Benadryl am & pm .This evening bought him some Greek Organic Plain Yogurt so will give that to him until it runs out.Next is socks on his feet will try finding some at the second hand store or Dollar store but not sure what size to try and get for a big Doberman.
I have a E-Collar it is one of the hard plastic kind I have put it on him and he does the following every time I have put it on him.He freezes, drools like crazy, shakes all over to the point of his teeth chatter out loud??? also stares at me since Dobe's usually have a history of heart problems DMC scared he will give himself a heart attack. Already spent $460.00 at the vets so that is not an option for now.Buddy needs some Rays & good thoughts too sure work he is just a big Dachshund he is Black & Rust smooth just with longer legs.He is a German too just like the Dachshunds.
Giving him a bath is not an option like you do a Dachshund he is too big 31" at the shoulder and 88# so will not fit in the sink and due to my Total Knee putting him in the tub will not work with my Knees and Back problems.Have to bathe him out side now its raining here so that would not work either Doberman s are only suppose to be bathed maybe twice a year.

Sending HHHHH's & PPPPPPPP's for Buddy.  Hope something works on this problem.  Wonder if he would be ok with one of the inflatable collars?  But it might not keep him away from it.

Poor Boy. Is it seasonal allergies? Hallie has been biting her feet like crazy the last 3-4 weeks, but now with the change of weather she is hardly noticing them at all. (WHEW!). While they were at their worst, I would soak her feet in an oatmeal bath (I got a tub she could stand in it outdoors) per Porky's Mom's suggestion and it did help her for a time afterwards. The more I could keep her off grass the better it got. I got her some little disposable booties and some cream and would put it on her feeties then the booties and would sit with her while it soaked in then lightly wash it off with a damp washcloth as they are not supposed to lick it. Again it helped for a time but not for a real long time. Still must have been nice to have some relief. I didn't give her benedryl because it knocks her out and I hated to do that plus when I did use it before it didn't seem to help her much. But they all are different.

I hope it's something seasonal so he will get over it soon. I would sit and gently massage Hallie between the toes when she would bite bite bite, it has to be miserable for them.

Schatzi's doggie friend Murphy is going crazy itching right now, too. His is always worse in the fall. They have decided it is from ragweed, which is really bad right now. His owner's cousin is a vet in Florida and suggested they may want to try a low dose of prednisone for a few weeks, just to get through the worse of it. She plans to take him to the vet here on Friday, so I will let you know what they tell her.
As for the e-collar, when we would not let Molly-angel lick her feet when they were itching, she would do the shaking, drool, etc. I think it was because the itching was just too much and the only relief was for her to lick it? Dee Dee's idea sounds like a good one. Maybe make up some of the oatmeal mixture and put it on his feet with some little sock coverings, especially if he is inside where you can watch him for awhile.

I know what you're going through.  Maddie had BAD allergies 2 years ago.  TERRIBLE itchies.  Can you spray Bitter Apple on his toes so he doesn't bite his feet?  RAYS to BUDDY!!
