Molly is now running, in the comical way only a bulldog dog can run, at Rainbow Bridge with many of the others from out board now. Randy took her in yesterday and stayed by her side until she peacefully crossed over. He hasn't said much to me about it, probably because I was already so emotional last night, but he told Meg yesterday when she talked to him that he just completely broke down when she was gone. Over the last six years, Randy has had a couple of times of deep depression, and Molly never left his side, which is one reason I think they had such a strong connection. He admitted last night that once he saw her in the vets office, outside of the house, he knew he had only been keeping her alive for himself, and that wasn't the right thing to do. She was tired, and not well, and it was time for her to go.
At some point their will be another bulldog in our house, but for now we will love on Schatzi and remember our Molly girl.

Hugs to you all.....you are in our thoughts and prayers.  It is hard and it hurts when we have to make the decision to help our furkids to the Rainbow Bridge.....a hole is left in our hearts.....but know that the hardest decisions are the ones we have to make sometimes.  Know that Molly Angel is now pain free and playing healthy at the Rainbow Bridge and she is watching over you.

Such a hard thing to do, but Randy was really the hero today, making that choice for his dear dear friend. The hurt and grief are steadfast now, but just wait.  You'll be smiling with good memories once the stab has left.  Molly was one fiiiiiiine lookin' Bullie.....ALL SQUARE!!    Dote on Schatzie now and please know you are in my thoughts today.

Mike

My thoughts are with your family.  With Clifford I found that the hardest part was to put his need first instead of mine.  After that it was a release for both of us.  I hope you find that as well.  Fare thee well Molly.

Rest in Peace Molly.  What a hard thing to go through, but what a wonderful gift, too. A big hug for all of you.

We are so very sorry to hear this news.  Rest in Peace, God Speed, dear Molly.  She will leave a huge hole in your lives having enriched them for so long.  Bless you both for being brave enough to let her go.  She looks so impressive in the photos and the one of her with Randy is very touching.  Hope the happy memories come to outweigh her loss.

One of our closest friends owns a pet crematory. He picked Molly up from the vets office shortly after she died on Tuesday. Yesterday he called Randy and said that Molly was riding shotgun with him for the day. As you can tell, he adored Molly, too. Randy met him today and now we at least have a part of Molly back home with us. Schatzi is still doing well, we just notice that she seems to look for Molly each time she gets on our bed since that is where she would often find her. Once she sees she isn't there, she settles down and sleeps.

We're sorry to hear about Molly.   Her and Schatzi made quite the pair.   For us, it always seemed to be knowing you were going to have to let them go was always worse than the actually letting go.   It's far too easy to dwell on how they died more than how they lived.   Like puppyhood, the end of a dog's life is only a small percentage of their total years.   We hope that the pain of Molly's loss will fade so that only the happy memories remain.

:comfort: i totally broke down when I saw your second picture...... you can SEE the bond....  With sadness he took her, but he would never have forgiven himself if he had not..... it is the tough price we pay for loving them....by letting them go when it is time.   Godspeed sweet Molly - run free and pain free at the Bridge ~
