dis is Parker: Dere was a earthquake and I was all by myself
I was weally scarred
Da Momma went to work like she does ebery day and left me all by myself wif my "safe" toys.
I fink my Momma should stay home wif me all da time now. It's bery dangerous.

Parker's Mom here:  We had an earthquake here in Southern Ontario. I left work right away to check on Parker and the poor little thing was pretty frantic when I got home. He had a very speedy recovery, but was a little reluctant to let me go to work this morning.
It's interesting how sensitive he is to tornado's and other bad weather. He starts pacing about an hour before the storm hits. I didn't see any indication about the quake however. He was fine when I left at 7am and the quake happened at 1:40pm. We hardly ever get quakes. Southern Ontario is more prone to tornados and heavy rain and snow falls.
He calmed down as soon as I got home.
I always leave him in the basement where our Family Room is. I figure he will be safest there.

Hope everyone is okay.  Parker, next time it shakes, BARK at it.  We here in California are used to these things (but living in a mobile home, I still don't like 'em) but ya'll In the Northeast, I'm sure,  it was rather a shock.  Take care!

Glad you are all OK hope it does not become a habit poor Parker must have been terrified he still may feel after shocks that you may not feel give Parker an extra hug from us.

Our Scally-angel used to be like that.   We always knew how severe a storm would be by how early she would "take cover" under a desk.   If she was hunkered down more than 60 minutes prior to a storm arriving, you knew it was going to be really bad.   I'm not sure if they are detecting the vibrations from the thunder that is inaudible to us, or sensing the drop in air pressure prior to a big storm.

Rudy-angel used to be frightened of storms.  Yet, his instinct to "protect" overrode his fears.   When we would get thunderstorms during the night, Rudy would back himself up against my body and sit up in an "alert" posture...shaking in fear the whole time, but never flinching or hiding, even when the worst of the storm was directly overhead.  It was always a very poignant moment.
