panic artists.......................

Wez wuz half way through the walk and we help take da BIG boys rugs off. Mum was in the yard taking Lallan's off,  Auntie janey was just outside the yard taking Huons off. I wuz down near da fence to da road as I usually do, then I go up da paddock and check out where I found a bunny ages ago, it may come, so I always look. Well when they were busy I went into da gate between them into the house area and went and checked out louie and Zac's breakfast.............they always leave food. Then I heard the two of them yelling well it sounded like that "COME.................OLIVER" both started to sound a bit panicy so I sat and watched from the drive way. MUm got a good work out running up the paddock and back  and Auntie Janey was saying she would go up the back just in case I thought mum had gone home and left me.................plus they had closed the gate so I could not COME if I wanted. Thats when Auntie Janey saw me...........................then I walked under Huon and both of them nearly fainted, but me and him got something gonnin on.

OLiver

Mum here basically true, but he must have moved like greased lighting to get between us to the gate, and his mum was also muttering as she ran up the paddock "I'm gonna kill you when I get hold of you" He loves Janes house paddock as their is rabbits and extra food and he knows he can stay out of our way for ages. He is safe, its about acre of
chicken wired dog proof garden. One day I left him and Jane said it took 10 mins for him to realize "where's mum" and then Jane picked him up and showed him that I was on the way up the hill, and let him out he ran like mad to me and looked like "suppose you pair thought that was funny". We will not tell his other owner what happened as he is a bit of a worry  wort.

Seems like the really big horsies know where their feet are at all times much better than regular size horses.I sure hope Oliver has a deal going on with Huon.
Glad everything turned out well.

Doxherding Karen

When I lived in Puerto Rico ('76-'79) I owned a registered Paso Fino, Niño Cisco.  One day, while grooming him, he started stamping one of his rear hooves.  I could not figure out what was bothering him until I went around and found my daughter, "that G-d awful Miriam," all of about three years old, with a stick in her hand, poking Cisco repeatedly in the flank.  He could have taken her out with one flick of the hoof, but he just kept stamping, as if to say, "Please get the baby to stop!" :comfort:

Horses, like dogs and cats, often know when a tiny, helpless human is about.  It seems to be the same for tiny mammals, like dachshunds! :thumb:

"I tried marriage and children - it ended badly.
I'm doing much better with dachshunds and rabbits."

Now that was a great horse not to kick your daughter bet he had carrots and apples that day.

Dee Dee and Hallie

OMG I about fainted just reading about it. I locked Hallie in another room the other day then I ran around the house indoors and out yelling for her in a pure panic, and I thought that was bad! This would have been much worse. LOL. It's always funny after the fact and we know everyone is ok. Do the kids try to eat the hoof trimmings too?

That was some good horse you had Auntie Karen.  :angel4: Horses are pretty amazing.
