On Thursday, May 6, Meghan graduated from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC with her Masters in Social Work. We are extremely proud parents, of course. Meghan has a job lined up and will start working on May 17 at York Place (www,yorkplace.org), in York, SC about 20 minutes from Rock Hill and about an hour away from Charlotte, N.C. She will still only be an hour and a half away from us, so we are happy. She will be a therapist at a home for children and adolescents with emotional and mental illnesses. This is exactly what she had hoped to be able to do and she is thrilled to be able to do so right after graduation.
Here is a picture of the three of us on Thursday evening. Meg is also 55 lbs lighter than she was at the beginning of the school year. She has accomplished a lot in the last nine months.

Congratulations, Meghan!  How exciting that you'll be doing exactly what you want to do, but it appears as though you are doing it very rapidly after graduation and without a long period of job searching!  (Not to mention, close to your parents!)

Thank you, everyone. She started her job yesterday and so far it has been great. Everyone is nice and helpful and the kids seem wonderful. Her office has a small courtyard attached, perfect for doing some garden therapy with the kids. They even have some students from Clemson University who come up once a month and teach the kids basic gardening skills (Meg said she is going to be sure to sit in on the classes!). It sounds like this could be the perfect fit for her. The only thing missing is a few doxies thrown in here and there!
