Just think that mum is doing the best by far for you, as you have allergies etc at least the vet know what is what and will take gooood care of you. Remember you can always sulk when they come home.

I would make sure some one is in the vets office it the evening and during the night since Porky has breathing problems do not wish to alarm you but most vets do not have anyone there with the animals over night.Someone checks on the new surgeries in the late evening checks for water and thats about it.Hoped you asked about how they do things after hours.Hope all works out and you have a nice trip.

So poor you Porkie, I remember last time you we're left behind to and your mom and dad off for a trip and here it goes again. Can't wait to hear your plans of rebellion, you should receive lots of toys and treats then..

it'll be okay honey.  Make sure you help them pack.  Poop in a shoe.  Then they won't forget you while they are away.

They are going to have someone overnight as it is an animal hospital.  They always have someone there after regular hours to answer the phones and check up on the overnight surgery patients and boarders.  Since it is our regular vet, they are aware of all his difficulties.  Porky's allergies are pretty well controlled with the medication and fish oil now so wheezing episodes are not likely.  I think Porky will have an easier time than me with the whole boarding thing.  I keep telling myself its only 5 days. Plus I can call and check up on him and they have my cell number, my husband's cell, my Grandma's telephone number, and a local emergency contact.   I have a real hard time with boarding because when I was 6, we took our German Shepherd to be boarded and when we got back a week later she had passed away from pneumonia!!!    It will be good for me to see that Porky can be boarded and he is fine when I come back.    Plus I have all my little second cousins running around to keep me distracted from the worrying.

You are very Lucky every since they opened the Emergency Animal hospital here in Tulsa a few years ago I know of 4 vet hospitals that do not have any one there at night if the animal is in need of observation the owner has to pick them up from their vets take them to the ER vets. Then in the morning the owner has to take them back to the original vets to stay all day until closing then do it all over again. When any of mine have surgery I make sure I can pick them up before closing. At least I can watch them as high as vet care is now days they should have some one there all night with all of the animals keeping an eye on them.Glad everyon e knows porky he will be very spoiled when you get back I'm sure Have a nice trip.

OH NOES!  My friend, this is an outrage - we should be able to go everywhere with our humans!  No living with V-E-T-S!  I fully support your plan for MASSIVE GUILT...

(okay, seriously, I stayed at the v-e-t when my back went out and they were very nice!  With treats and walkies and everything and at least they are trained to take good care of us medically just in case.  So it won't be so bad!  And think how happy you will be to see The Parents when they eventually come back!)
