Hi All! Sorry we've been scarce lately!! Don't you just love how life gets in the way of things!!  :verdict:

If you could spare some rays for Penny it would be greatly appreciated! She's showing signs of back problems again, but we don't know if it is her back or the auto-immune disorder she has that attacks her spinal cord. It also seems like it could be her shoulder maybe too! So hard to pinpoint...wish they could tell us! We have an appointment with a neurologist tomorrow at 11 am PST...I was bummed that we couldn't get in to see her neurologist, so we are seeing someone new. Fingers crossed that she is just as good!  :xfinger: So at the moment she is in her crate and not a very happy camper  :crybaby2:

Kari, that is what Amy showed signs of, we thought it was the shoulder on her front leg, and looked as if she was walking on glass all the time. I know I have gone on about it, but Isobel who does bowen therapy worked magic, we now have a big problem of this cannon ball that runs from one place to the other after her brother. The shoulder pain came from her point of op incision, and eventually found her her intercostal muscles were spasming. She has been three times and is going again next wednesday to check her out, at my insistance just for a while to keep an eye on her. We plan to do monthly for a while and then take it out to longer. Isobel showed me how to tell if her muscles were spasming , then I was to bring her in................
It may be worth a look its not invasive and Amy likes going now.

Thanks everyone! She seemed a bit better this morning, so we decided to move her appointment to next week and watch her like a hawk this weekend. Knock on wood that was the right decision.   :xfinger:

So glad her appointment is tomorrow afternoon. Poor thing has been crated all weekend which she didn't seem to mind so we know something is seriously up with her. I've been looking at the sad puppy face all weekend while I study...we keep each other company  :thumb:

Just got back from the neurologist...they think it isn't her back, but her immune system problem (where it attacks her spinal cord) flaring up. She is on crate rest and they are going to try a new drug that will hopefully calm it down so we don't have to go the steroid route. Thanks for all the rays and good thoughts. We're really hoping that this just calms down and doesn't turn into anything bigger!

I just talked with the neurologist today and we are going to continue her on Gabapentin (a nerve blocker) for two more weeks and then take her off and see how shes does. It isn't something that has to be tapered off so we should know pretty quickly if she is still having problems. She is doing really well at the moment and it is getting really hard to keep her quiet! I'm not sure how we are going to keep her quiet the next two weeks?!?

Sounds like you've got a challenge for the next 2 weeks.  Penny girl, slow down so you get all better.

Pennygirl!  It's so hard to keep quiet when we're feeling better, isn't it?  *whine*

My mom says she hopes your mom has good luck with this.  She'd try and offer advice, but everything she knows about keeping us quiet in CRATE PRISON she learned here, so she figures you know the stuff she knows already.  MY suggestion, however, would be for our Moms to climb in our crates with us and give us bellyrubs and feed us HAM and things constantly so we won't be bored.  Also a nice quality TV show would be helpful.  (My mom likes "The West Wing" and "Doctor Who".  Your Mom may vary)

Cheers and I hope that you get all better!

Glad to hear she's doing better. I know what you mean about keeping her quiet. It's a mixed blessing - glad they feel better but that added problem.
