My sister-in-law lives over near him and she tells me it's a huge mess over there.  No power for the most part and very difficult to get gas and supplies.

We have a glass manufacturing plant in Miami and their power just came back on this morning.  It sounds horrible.  Mack did check in with Kari the morning after from work, but had no power.   Hope he and the kids are safe and dealing with everything.  Hopefully he will check in from work and let us know......

One sister in Coral Springs has electric; the other in Boca Raton doesn't and my Mom doesn't in Tamarac.  It seems very sporatic.

Hi everyone,

I'm into a full week without power, but at least I have a roof over my head. No damage to the house except for the loss of a half of one roof tile (no biggie). I did lose a third of my fence, so it's leash-walking the dogs everytime we go out.

Ice is hard to get; can't find any the past three days, so it's down to vienna sausages and potted meat and room-temperature colas and water (yummmm!). Thankfully, it's chamber of commerce weather now -- just gorgeous, not hot at all.

My neighborhood looks like a war zone. Little damage to the homes, but the trees and beautiful foliage is a mess. Some trees stripped bare and others snapped in half. I took about 30-40 pictures and will share a link when I have time to upload some. I can only access email and the internet at work, so obviously I can't spend too much time on that at work.

I see that the two doxies in Tallahassee apparently have been rescued -- Is that Koby and Tiff? I am now coordinating rescue intakes for Florida Dachshund Rescue and had gotten an email from the man with the dogs. Was trying to coordinating something with a member in Tallahassee when the storm struck. So it fell through the cracks. I was trying to catch up today and saw the posts. Are the dogs out of Tallahassee now? If someone could email me privately about this I would appreciate it.

Thank you all for thinking of me down here. Really not too bad here. Certainly not nearly as bad as those in New Orleans from Katrina.

I am very glad to hear you are fine.  I hope you get the electric back soon.   :xfinger:

My sister is still without electricity, too...and they still have to boil their water.

She called me on her cell today just to let me know how things were going.   After she told me what was going on, she asked how things were going up here.  I told her that it wasn't quite the adventure that she was having, at which point she interrupted me and told me "Trust me, this is NOT an adventure".

I got my power back this morning. Everything seems to be working -- even the DSL and the DirecTV (my dish was knocked down by the storm).

Wow, what a lot of emails to wade through!

And, never thought I'd be glad to do laundry.  :headbang:

Glad you are able to start getting things back to normal again! Clean laundry is a good thing!  :-)

Belly rubs to your pack and so glad you are doing well (as can be expected at least!)
