All of my dachsies seem to truly relish autumn weather.   Bright sunshine to warm their bodies, but cool air temps to keep them from overheating.   With plenty of critters scurrying about getting ready for winter, I'm sure their snouts are taking in a potpourri of wonderful scents.   The Zs, and Rudy & Max before them always seem to be "turbocharged" this time of year.  Even Max-angel in his final years found a spring in his step this time of year.

Only about a third of the leaves in our backyard have come down.  The silver maple which is the biggest contributor to the leaf collection still hasn't full turned color, let alone dropped most of its leaves.   Once the leaves are down, the dachsies do their part for FLIP - Federal Leaf Inspection Program to make sure each leaf meets government standards for size, color, texture and shape.

Totally agree-but my smoothie, Murph,  is the most frisky in this weather-he seems to be able to feel the cool air better, and he gets the zoomies when he goes back inside from the chill.

Weather been crazy for us, last week it was so cold with wet days because of almost non-stop rain. We finally enjoyed the sunshine in last couple of days, and now the weather seemed to be hot that makes Max sleep under my bed all day.

Lowriders in Ohio

Our boys love the fall also.  They run around the yard, getting into piles of leaves taller than they are.  When we rake, they chase eachother and scatter the leaves all over again.
