yikes.  I better take a gooooooooooooood look out back before I let the kids out.  Fenced or not, they might be attracted to our compost pile.

Coyotes were walking down our street one morning early here awhile back and we live in the city? They have been known to jump 6 foot fences with ease they do it out in California all the time even Hollywood stars have there little dogs & cats come up missing.Recently read about the Ozzy Osbourne's family lost a dog to a coyote??? Not sure if it true they write so much about actors & actresses you never know if it is true or not. I cheat I make Buddy go out with Patches at night hoping a coyote will not go up against a Doberman but Buddy is such a baby do not know about him sometimes.Be careful.

Not Coyotes, but the other night at about 10 PM we had just closed the doors getting ready for lights out when NIck shouted "there is a dingo outside". So closed our guys in the study and went out, duh..........................large black lab, with collar etc, then we heard our neighbors calling. They do not have a dog any more but we think they had visitors. Plus we do not get Dingos in our area...................just a paranoid husband. And I can tell you he/she was well cared for and just manged through the fences.

We had coyotes on our property when we lived on our farm. And MAN those suckers get BIG! And they are smart. They used to taunt the dogs like crazy.

Did you guys hear about the Canadian Singer who was attacked and killed by coyotes recently?

(Actually this post might be because of that?)

A compost pile should not have anything in it that is not 100% vegetarian.  This includes dog and cat droppings.

So would a coyote be attracted to fruit rinds or peelings?

I'm doing much better with dachshunds and rabbits."

Ack! That is so scary. A friend of mines doxie got carried off in a coyotes mouth but luckily my friend was able to scare it into dropping her. She has little white spots on her body now where the teeth were. Nasty things! The worst we've had is a raccoon problem but with the new fence nothing has seemed to come in. Coyotes are wiley!

LOL Roberta had to laugh at the dingo story. Hallie and I were at my parents once and they both saw a black bear out by their mailbox. I had a good hold of Hallie and were peeking thru the living room window when a black lab walked into view. At least they had the color right LOL do dingos come in black?
