Happy Gotcha Day to Oscar!!! & pictures

Today is Oscar's Gotcha Day.  Yep, he is the true Halloweiner.  2 years ago today, I picked Oscar up from Angels for Animals as a foster.  I was volunteering at the shelter and saw Oscar in the medical unit the night he arrived.  Oscar was picked up by a kind lady walking in the street with no collar or tags.  He had a big cut down the middle of his face, and he shook constantly.  He was estimated to be 6 and 1/2 years old and weighed 12 lbs.  I asked the dog supervisor to let me foster Oscar.   My husband really did not want a third dog, but since Oscar was just a foster, I talked him into it.  I picked up Oscar on Halloween of 2007, secretly knowing that I would never let him go. 

Oscar was a part of the family right away, and it took no time at all for him to win my husband over.  As soon as he got to the house, Oscar sat on the my lap on the porch and helped us pass out candy to trick-or-treaters.  Now, he is our littlest boy but our bossiest.  Oscar is the first one out of bed in the morning, and he barks at the other dogs to get them moving.  He is also the last one to bed at night.  Oscar is a great snuggler.  We joke that he is our little football because we can carry him under one arm.  Oscar loves hunting squirrels in our backyard and actually got one two summers ago.  He also loves his 3 brothers, Hemi, Cyrus, and Sammy, especially when they chase him around our first floor in circles.

We are so lucky to have our little Oscar, affectionately known as Weenis.  Thank you to whoever picked Oscar up from the road and gave him a second chance at life.  Happy Gotcha Day, Oscar!!!  We love you!
