Parker's Mom here: Poor Parker, he hates his routine upset. My grandfather passed away at the great age of 93. He had a wonderful life!
Parker kept going into the good living room and sitting where we put the tree. He seemed so confused. Poor little guy. He never goes in that room except during the Christmas holidays.  Well anyways he did get a special present to destuff, and everything is routine again so he seems to be happy.

Sounds like your grandfather had a good long life.  Our doxies sure do pick up on changes in routine, they know when something is up, or amiss.

Sorry to hear about your grand dad, but to live to 93 fantastic.
Poor Peter, when we moved for the first few weeks Ollie did not cope, then we realized we had changed their routine of them sitting on the sofa after dinner, after that he was OK, they are very routine driven.

I have a funny twin story:

When they were two years old we moved to Baltimore.  In our old house, we kept their shoes and sneakers in the hall linen closet.  The  first day they woke up from their naps and I said to them, "Wanna go outside to play?  Come on, lets' get your shoes on."  They both ran out into the new hall, looked around frantically for the non-existent linen closet, looked at one another and started wailing like banshees!  I couldn't console them - I had taken away their shoe storage place and they would not be mollified!

They were so cute - then. :comfort:
"I tried marriage and children - it ended badly.
I'm doing much better with dachshunds and rabbits."

We're sorry to hear about your grandfather.  93 is a great run, though

Auntie Karen...were those pics taken in 1987?   I remember we had a couple of really good snows that year.
