I know what would have happened to Sammy without DRNA and me and Tracy and the lady that turned him in. It starts with the lady that found him, then Tracy/DRNA who vetted him, and me who fostered him, and the trail ends at your house.  I guess I did alot of the work, but really there is a trail of other people that got him to me. I don't have the "before" pictures but trust me, the dog I got on a cold December night looked nothing like the dog I delivered to Ohio. He weighed 16 lbs when I got him, he was 28 lbs when he got to your home.

I guess the satisfaction of this work should be that he's alive and happy, and That he's got a great owner like you.

I hope all my adopters are like you and Cale.

THANK YOU for taking such good care of him.

Ed, a big "Thank You" for being a foster parent.  I have also fostered these wonderful little guys.  I like to take in the senior weiners because most people over look them.  However, that means most of them stay with me until they cross the Bridge.  I, unfortunately, now live in a township that is not dog friendly and I am fined $100 each for anything over two dogs.  I am down to three and cannot foster anymore.  Wish I had checked on this matter before we bought this house.  Not helping to provide a loving home for a senior just breaks my heart.

Thanks again, Ed.  You are doing a wonderful thing for these dogs in need.

I'm sure I'll take in a senior or two somewhere along the line but you stated the real problem with taking them in. Generally, the foster home is the last home....but there are exceptions to the rule.

Lowriders in Ohio, took in a senior with a known heart problem, she spent a ton of money doing her best to help. Thats a big part of the reason that I sent Sammy to her, if she'll do that for a senior (sanctuary) I'm certain she'll take good care him and the rest of her crew. Plus after all the work and heartbreak, she deserved a good healthy dog.

and my foster break lasted about 1 week.

Saturday I got a call from a lady here in town needing to surrender her dogs because she had to move. So Sunday I ended up with not 1 but 2, puppies, 6 months old....seems somebody (God?) thinks I need to work a little harder. And judging by the number of fleas I got off of them they needed a safe place to go.

What beautiful puppies!!  You are sure to have some fun (and some messes) with them!

Oh Ed, these babies are absolutely adorable.  They shouldn't be in your care for very long.  Thank you for taking them in.  Smoochies to the little doxies.

Hi Ed,

I'm forwarding this to my co-worker.  I'm not certain she's looking for a puppy; but, she is definitely looking.

I'll stay in touch!

Regards,

Dianne

last time I looked we had 175 dachshunds ready for a home, and probably another 2-300 in foster not ready to go yet.

It's a safe bet that we have a dog she would want.

These two pups aren't listed on the website yet and I won't list them until I have them house trained.

And what would have happened to our Misty Girl if you rescue folks weren't out there?  We only had her for 6 years, she died of a brain aneurysm, but she filled our lives with joy while we had her.  To the folks who gave her up at the age of 5 months because "they just didn't want her anymore", we were given a treasure that we will never forget or regret.
