Who said puppies are fun...they should have their shoes peed in! We went to Mom's aunts for card night and she has a little mini-me. Talk about a pest! He followed me everywhere and when I ignored him he turned into a little land shark...he'd dart in over and over and give me a little nip! Mama said he was trying to stir me up to play with him but I just did my best to pretend he wasn't there. I did get bits of peas and carrots and a tiny bite of lasagna so I guess it was worth it but I hope he grows up and gets more mature soon! His name is Schatzi. Mom sez he's really cute. Hrumph.   :verdict:

After da l@@k I gave momma in the last picture she did save me from him, I just peered down very Queen like at him from her arms after that. Momma said I was very good and that ignoring him was the best thing I could do since I didn't want to play. She laffed at him when he had a "runny attack" thru the house and ran and took each of his toys up his couch stairs and put them in a pile. Pfffffft. She said I used to do stuff like that when I was younger too but I think she was hallucinating.

Priceless..................how we do forget what pups are like. Ms H you face brings on the title of a song "Just one look , that's all it took". Don't you do runny turns anymore or is that not Princessly.

Awwww.    You'd think Miss H's maternal instinct would kick in.  Schatzi was probably very excited that there was another dachshund around.  Somehow, these little guys definitely know when they are around another dachshund

It does remind me of when I first had Rudy-angel as pup.   There was a b/t female, I think she was about six at the time.  When Rudy spotted her, he became very excited.   However, when we got the two of them snout to snout, the adult female wanted nothing to do with this pup.  In fact, she did the "If I turn my back and don't look at you, you no longer exist" attitude.

It wasn't until I adopted Max-angel that the female dachshie had a change of heart. Max was always the "ladies man".   With the two of them, she felt more like a "pack" and more readily accepted them.

Oh Parker, you are so cute.  How could anyone not like you?  Plus, as pointed out in your complaints about the dog park, you are NOT a puppy.  Maybe Hallie just likes more mature adult dachsies men.

Roberta, having Hallie with this pup really made me see how much she has aged! I hate it! She is doing great just slower, she used to race all over the place now she still does but not nearly as often or for as long (or as fast). Schatzi is a very busy little boy cute as a bug. I do miss the Hallie puppy stuff! She doesn't do the runny attacks anymore either I do think part of that is because we are on the go all the time so she gets home and wants to sleep but she does play with her squeakies now and then still.  Good for Ollie still doing zoomies, how old is he now?

That's funny about the female doxie David. I'll bet Rudy was a darling puppy. I agree it seems they do recognize their own breed I wondered if Hallie reminded him of his Mom.

Awww Lowriders is right, Hallie would like you Parker, when you are sleeping or eating or looking out the window! LOL. But if you were to jump on her and nip and play she says she's to the age where things start to hurt and the energy isn't there like it used to be. She will still play but more gently!

Hmmm Barb...I guess he would be her 2nd cousin or something! I can never keep those straight.

Fin I'll bet you and Parker would be pretty darn cute together! You keep trying to get them older puppers to play with you keeps them young! :thumb:

I just noticed in the second to last picture that she is actually hilding him back with her foot.. haha

You're right I hadn't noticed that. LOL. Actually given a little more time I think she would have started to play with him. She was still in her initial snooping the perimeter for crumbs mode so she had her one track mind on that, towards the end here she did start to respond to him a little which is where I put an end to it I am way too afraid to let her play and hurt her back again, especially on that slippery wood floor. I would have let it go a little longer on carpet. I was glad to see they got Schatzi some steps up to the sofa! He used to just launch off it and hit that slick floor and spin out...yikes.

This is the little guy that at our card playing night last month, got out of the gate and 7 of us were trying to catch him up and down busy streets (my heart got a work out!). He would run down the street, turn and come back, as he'd reach us we'd be squatted down with treats, tossing treats, I even lay down and played dead hoping he'd come to investigate what I was doing and I could nab him...but he'd just speed up as he went thru us and down another street. A couple of us were in the street with our hands out stopping traffic. One lady was yelling at us thru the closed window and just bombed right through us missed Schatzi by feet! Idiot.

In the end he tired out luckily it was warm out and with three of us converging on him he just put down his ears, gave up and rolled over and someone scooped him up. A very dramatic start to a nice evening!

Yeah, right, DeeDee, she sure is moving slower - because you CARRY, DRIVE, PUSH OR PULL HER EVERYWHERE!!  When was the last time she actually had to WALK somewhere???!??  :verdict: My son, who had five older sisters, didn't walk until he was SIX! :dontknow:
