My niece and nephew were over yesterday, so the dogs got plenty of socialization with the 3 and 5 year old.  Winston and Reilly tolerate very nearly anything from them.  Alyssa loves to cover the dogs up with blankies when they're lying on their beds, and she holds Reilly like a baby doll too.

This is where Millie spent most of her time (on her grandma's lap) since she's not so patient with the kiddies yet.

I also have a little "movie".  The kids put the ball in the wagon, so Winston was going to follow them until they threw it.  Joey wanted to keep it, but we convinced Lissy to toss it-and it landed in the pool which was luckily covered, lol.

Very cute pictures.  Our dachsie boys are a little untrustworthy with little kids.  I am not sure that they would snip, but I suspect it.  Our boys all freely bite eachother, so is biting a small child really that far of a stretch?

I've been very surprised.  It took them a few hours to get used to the sudden movements, but Millie's the only snippy one so far, and she's still very young.  I have noticed that after hours and hours of this (the kids were over from around 12:00 Saturday to 11:00 Sunday), the dogs start getting a little more annoyed, moving away quicker and hiding more, so I just gave them breaks as I felt like they needed them and supervised closely to make sure the dogs were handling it okay.  They have a long rope though before they need that first break.

I love the paw too! Hallie does that also it's so cute. My big front window shade broke so I was trying to get it down yesterday, I was standing between it and the window wrassling with the dumb thing I couldn't get it out of the brackets. At one point I came out and saw Hallie sitting across the living room, staring with her ears up and one paw in the air...the look on her face cracked me up, I'm sure she must have thought I was nuts!

She never would have jumped up on top of the swimming pool like Winston though she would have waited for him to go up and get it for her!  :thumb:
