So my friend who works with Rhodesian Ridgeback rescue sends me text message.  There was a dachshund rescue who needed to be placed ASAP.   I sent back yesyesyes!!!  :hello2:  :hello2:  :hello2:

She was ditched at a grocery store in a nice part of town with A LOT of automobile traffic.  A family took her in and cared for her as if she was their own.  They took pictures and placed an ad in the newspaper and posted fliers for four weeks.  No one called.

I picked her up the next day and she was quick to settle in.  She is a doll and a half!  She looks to be about 4 or 5 years old.

My husband and I think she might be an elusive doxiehuahua...But we could be wrong.  It will be interesting to see what the vet says on Monday.  Either way, she has enough doxie in her to keep us legitimate on the wiener writings board. :)

She is a snuggler and a smooch giver.  She runs fast and chases butterflies.  We could not be more happy.

Congratulations! That is wonderful news! She looks like such a doll.  :hello2:

Awwww....the dogapult certainly works in mysterious ways, doesn't it?

Looking at Ema's "highlights", the white-tipped snout and the hint of the beginnings of a "mask", I'd put her age closer to 7.

May Ema have many, many, many happy years at her new forever home.

She is just beautiful and looks perfectly content to be with you. I think Frida had something to do with this one, for sure. Those doxies seem to get busy at Rainbow Bridge when they know their owners are hurting and so lonely without them.
I love the part about her chasing butterflies! Enjoy this gift you have been given. As for Ema-she has no idea what kind of life she is in for now-spoiling galore!

She is just adorable !!!  Congrats and a huge thank you for opening your hearts so soon......   She is blessed, that's for sure    And even if only one of her toesies were doxie related, we would still accept her here  :comfort:

Woohoo, Ema - you have landed in gravy!  It sounds like you had a hard life, but it is already soooooo much better, huh?  How is Willy doing with his new sister?  Is she more inclined to be sociable?  My furkids wanna know!   (I am in Missouri right now, and they have Auntie Brenda, but I'll be back next week...)

Wow! That is fantastic! She is beautiful her coloring is gorgeous I don't think I've ever seen a doxie quite that color. She looks purebred to me from the photos? Are her legs longer than most doxies? Pretty eyes too. Congrats on your new little girl!!! Lucky girl she is too.  :thumb:

Thank you so much for a happy homecoming for Ema...We absolutely ADORE her.  She is a lover and a smoocher and as we found out this morning, LOVES to go for walks.  She had a great time this morning, checking out the nighborhood and all  of the neighborhood dogs.  She seems to be quite friendly and very sociable (can you believe it Julia!) and ready to have fun.  She has settled in with Willy and they are pretty funny together.

Ema likes to chase Willy when playing soccer and tries to bite at his heels to keep him going.  As an All Purpose Farm Dog (What we like to classify our dear Willy as), he is not so sure what to think of that.  As he runs to chase and herd his soccer ball, Ema chases him to the ball and then chases him back to me.  Everyone gets to play and everyone is happy  :hello2:  :hello2:  :hello2:

Our sweet Ema could easily be 7 or 8, and she has energy out the door!  But she can nap at will too.  It is a good combo for us!

Dee Dee, you had asked about her legs...thye are mini or midi doxie size.  No different from our previous 2 doxies.

Jim has taken to referring to her as a weenie back, 1/2 doxie 1/2 rhodesian ridgeback for her wonderful hackle ridge that is dark brown down the center of her back when she gets tough.  Seeing that she came though Rhodesian Ridgeback rescue, we are going to throw them that bone of being a weenie back :).   Our best friends have RHodesian Ridgebacks and she looks like a mini RR.  She is so cute!!!

So here are a few pics from our walk this morning, including an inspection of the water spray part of our neighborhood park.

Thanks again for the warm reception and enjoy the pics!

Ema is a beauty!  I am so glad that she has arrived.  I really like her unique coloring.  It makes her a woman of mystery.
