A new twist, by Oliver Twist aka Ollie. (You've already seen some of these, but they go with my story)

Hi, I'm Ollie. This is my story.
One day, I found myself in a place where there were a lot of dogs that were barking all night and all day. The two dogs I was staying with wouldn't let me eat and they didn't like to play. Then I saw this lady........I licked her fingers through the wire, and then she left. I don't know why I was in there. I had a family, but they couldn't keep me. I don't know why. Then the lady came back again and took me outside. She talked so sweet to me and I gave her as many kisses as I could. I wanted to go home with her. But, she left me again. I couldn't sleep because of the cold floor and all the barking. The other two dogs I was with took the one bed. They fight with each other. I don't like that. Someone came to my cage one morning and took some papers down. I think it had my name on it. What did it mean? Were they going to take me in the back where the other dogs didn't come back? Then, later that day, she came again. Smiling. Looking at me. She entered my cage and pushed that mean other dog away that was biting me, and she picked me up. She held me and kissed me and smiled. Then she put me in her car and took me to my new home. I was scared and had an accident, but she just smiled at me and told me it would be alright. I met 2 other dogs. They are so silly, just like me, and they like to play. She let me sleep with her in her warm soft comfortable bed. I knew I had a home forever. I will do my best to be good, potty outside, and I will be a happy dog.

My new mom sure does like taking pictures and videos. Here's a few to entertain you.

I love playing with Millie. She is gentle with me and doesn't hurt me. I get carried away sometimes and she yelps to let me know it.

I just love a good roll in the grass. LittleBit showed me how to do it just the other day and I can't resist when the sun is out and the grass is dry.

Aw, Ollie, your story made me cry! I'm so glad your new mommy came for you. It must have been very scary at that place with the mean dogs. Now it sounds like you've landed in the butter, that's for sure. I bet you are being spoiled royally, like every dachsie should.

Please keep telling us your stories and it shoulds like you have a brother or a sissy or both? How do you like them?

Welcome! My name is Sandi and hubby Mark and I are owned by 11 year old Madison (BT smooth mini) and 10 year old Bonnie whom we rescued last Oct. Bonnie is also a b/t mini smoothie but they girls look very different. Maddie is short and rather squat and Bonnie is loooooong and lean.

Awwww....

Once they start rolling in the grass, it doesn't stop. Zeke is 7 years old and still behaves like Ollie in the grass.

I'm trying so hard to learn to potty outside. My mom is so patient. She is trying hard to read me, too. I really goofed this morning. She was headed down the hall to take me outside and suddenly, she turned and went back to the bedroom and I followed and........my mind was on........well.........I just had to go bad. I heard her say NO and, well, I couldn't stop. I really had to pee. She didn't get mad at me. She took me on out and I finished the other job. I sure will be glad when I can hold it longer and not make booboo's for mom to clean up. My dad is also patient with me. I had a little poo accident, but he laughed and told mom about it when she got home. They just talked about how young I was and how it was going to take a little time to get me potty trained. It sure was easier when my birth mom took care of things.
Oh well. Gotta go play with something. I hope I find something mom will let me keep chewing on instead of taking it away from me. She frets so much about what I have in my mouth. I can find some really neat stuff if I snoop long enough. But, I don't think it's what I'm suppose to chew on. She always replaces what she takes from me with that great rope toy. I can chew the heck out of it all I want. She says it flosses my teeth. Oh, here comes one of my sisters......she wants to play. Bye.

Hey Ollie,

Dis is Danni and I feel your pain. I'm waaaaaaay younger than you, mom says I'm way younger than anyone and I'm learnin to let mom know when I have to go potty. Since I am so small mom has to carry me outside because I can make it down the stairs myself yet. So when I give mom the sign she picks me up and we go out to the backyard and I do my business. I am cutting my baby teef so mom bought me a raccoon to chew on and you know what it squeaks and I talk back to it AND mom laffs at me - she says its cute, but I say I'm just finding my voice.

Yes, David I have a new puppy. Her name is Danni, but she's not a dachsie, she's a pineranian(Min Pin/Pom cross). My cousin's dog had puppies and to keep her in the family since my cousin didn't want the responsibility anymore - the puppy was 5 weeks old when I got her. so I took her. She's very tiny, but a bundle of energy. Pictures and videos are in the works.

hey Dani. i've been busy...finding things to chew on that mum doesn't want me chewing on. i'm giving her a run for her....uh.....not sure why she's running. it sure does look like play to me. i got hold of a rubber ball in the yard and it was soooo funny. i'd wait until she was close, then i'd run. then my big human brother, michael, could chase me down and get it from me. party pooper. This potty thing is boring. i like to check things out and mum just keeps telling me to potty when we go out.

Hey all. It's me, Ollie. Gotta tell ya how much I love playin with my sisters. They don't have a clue. I can outlast them both. My mum just laughs at us playing and she likes to capture it. So, here's another silly video.

Mum thought about getting pop this shirt, but I think she decided against it since I'm not a very good guard dog at my age. I think that's why. Oh, I don't know anything. Sister says it's just plain embarrawsing. What ever that means. :scratch:

Mum took me on a high speed adventure today. She was sitting on this thing that had wheels and she moved her legs and she just sat there and went like a million miles an hour. I was on my leash and going full speed with her. She says we weren't going that fast, just "putsing along on a lesurely bike ride across the street", but it sure did seem fast. I ran like the wind and it felt good to stretch my legs and body. Sisters said it wasn't their cup of tea. Now who drinks tea when you're running? :scratch:

Mum says she'll take pictures next time.

Mum took me in to see the dog doctor. Said I had to get some shots to keep me from getting sick. I heard her ask him to look at my teeth and to see how old I really was. He said I had stuff on my teeth that was breaking off and I wouldn't have to have my teeth cleaned. I think I'm glad about that cuz mum sure did smile. He said my teeth say I'm 1 yr old at least. What ever that means. I still feel young. 1 isn't too old, is it? Mum seemed happy. She gave me treats everytime they did something to me I didn't like. That stuff they made me swallow was yucky. I think he stuck me with sumthin, but mom had these great treats so I didn't feel much. Everyone was so nice to me. They all told me how cute I was. Then mum stopped at this lady's house and she had all these stuffed toys on a blanket in her yard and I got to go through them and pick out the ones I liked. Mum bought them for me. I just didn't know which one I liked best.

Hey Ollie, I had to go to da vet Tursday and get my shot, but Dr Cindy said I did good, better den dat ole Pom that cried every time Dr Cindy touched her. Den I came home and found dis neat black kitty under the sofa and dragged it out and now I play with it.

Marcia here Dannie did great at the vet and charmed everyone. And at home she found this large stuffed black cat I bought last fall for Eddie and dragged it to the center of the living room and plays with it. Mind you the cat is 5x bigger than Danni, but my 2.7 pound baby had to have it. It's so funny to see her grab the tail and try to shake it as if it were tiny stuffed raccoon.

Hey dannie. It's great that you wurnt scared ether. I also gained 0.6 pounds since I was ther 2 weeks ago. Mum said I was skiny cuz I culdn't get food where I wuz stayin before she brought me to live with her. I don't have to fight for my food anymore. I twrid to pick up this big gumby horse and mum said it wuz too big fur me. But she got me a bunch of toys I can run round with.

Ollie here. Been a lwong twime. Been soooo bwusy. Doggy Daycare, n awl. I got the pwotty thing down. Mum is sooooo happy. She's gwood to me. Lwoves me, too. She says I gotta see some people tomworrow so's I kin get chwecked owut to vwisit sick humins. I wuv meetin humins. Gotta gwo to bwed. bwusy day tomworrow.
