So I go into the breakroom to get a cup of coffee while the guys are on break.  One guy is ALWAYS ranting and raving about politics and making a big stink and acting like a general [censored].  Today he tried to put me on the spot by asking me my opinion on something, so with a big smile and my best HR voice I sez:  "I'm going to decline to discuss politcs at work." to which he replies with a big, hostile "WHY not????"
and I got to pull out my VERY FAVORITE Ann Landers line EVAH:  "A gentleman would not need to ask that question." 

werks every time.  Feel free to add the lilting Southern accent.
