Broken hearted....

I'm sorry for not posting for a few days. I got some horrible news on Friday that had me in such shock, I couldn't even function. One of my cousins, who is 26 like myself, is facing some really hard times right now. She and I have been very close and written to each other since we were 13. However, when we graduated high school we kind of lost touch with one another. I still feel like she is one of my closest cousins. She is one of those people where you wouldn't see or talk to them for years, but once you met up again, it would seem like you hadn't missed a thing.

Anyway....last week sometime, I think Wednesday, her husband had a fatal heart attack. He was in perfect health and his doctor had just given him a physical and stated how healthy he was. Her husband was only 30! :crazyeyes: I've been struggling to make sense of it all or at least get past the shock of it all, but it hasn't happened yet. I sent Kay a card, but i know nothing I can say would make her feel better. I never met her husband, but knowing how special she is, he had to be a fabulous guy!

So if anyone could spare some extra rays for her I would appreciate it.

Oh dear, how sad, and shocking. Kay needs you more than ever now. This would be a good time to make that connection again. How far away is she from you? Does Kay have any kids? You are right, there is nothing you can say at a time like this, you can only be there, cry together and let them talk.

She lives in a different state and I don't have her telephone number so I'm hoping she'll respond when she's not so overwhelmed and sad. She doesn't have any children, so I'm sure she'll head home to her mom and dad's for awhile. They live really close to her. Plus, one of her uncles is a pastor and is going to do the funeral for her. That will help her out with the overwhelming costs of his funeral. Plus, he'll be able to help her with all the planning, etc.

Oh no! That is shocking. I'm glad she has people near her to help out as that will make it easier. Hopefully she'll be able to respond to your message soon and you two can re-establish your connection.

Oh Amorette, that is heartbreaking and shocking news!! So so young. God Bless your cousin. He will give her the strength to make it through this!! I hope you can re-establish your relationship. God Bless you Amorette!

I am so sorry....tragic. I agree with Patty, she needs you now more than ever.
