He is very hot and very cranky.  We tried to keep him warm but den Loki drank his ginger ale, so he went to bed.  Momma tooked his temperature and it was 101.3!!
Momma got da cod liver oil and the vitamin sea and sprayed eberyding wiff Lysol (cept us.)
Pwease send some doxie rayz to our daddy, Mr. Cranky (hot)pants.

Man, he looks like he got hit with a truck!  I just got my flu shot on Monday, so....I don't know if that was enough time to protect me.   AND the nurse didn't get me a full shot! she squirted some of the vaccine on my arm because she was in a hurry. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Threw away all the nasal saline and am soaking the toothbrushes in Vodka.  (yum)  bought Gaterade, tissues and Ni-Quil.  Poor daddy, I was out having a good time out shopping all day.  GUILT! GUILT!

Soaking the toothbrushes in Vodka????  I guess that is as good as any other antiseptic.
I hope he feels better soon, I hear there is a nasty flu going around.

aye, tis what me sainted gramma did.  Rubbing alcohol and Hydroden perioxide taste TERRIBLE.

Leslie, I gotta meet you someday, you sound like my kind of gal.

Grammy was a real entrepreneur, not only did she make her own Vodka, she used to send my dad to the corner store with little slips of paper with numbers on it...

Sending mega rays!!  I have a flu-like thing going on right now too.  Mine is bad enough I might go to see the doctor tomorrow morning.  Hope he gets to feeling better real soon!!  By the way, I got the flu shot in September, guess it didn't work well for me.    :dontknow:

Ugh!  Sounds pretty nasty!  I hope daddy is less cranky soon.

I had the joy of Mark waking me up at 3:00 AM one morning last week with a clipboard and pen in hand.  He couldn't talk.  Couldn't swallow and had a drool rag handy.  Off to the ER we went.  Geeesh!  At 3 in the morning it sure is foggy, and remember I don't drive so Mr. About To Die had to.  Seemed like the trip (about 4-5 miles) took forever!  He hadn't swallowed in an hour because of severe sore throat.  Doc gave him a steroid shot and some Vicadin and prescribed massive dose of Motrin.  I had the same thing but not THAT bad.  We both ended up staying home, me for 2 days and hubby, all week.  We're both feeling better now.  :)

I got the flu shot a few years ago and got what was called the "para-flu".  It wasn't the full blown flu, but it was the next best thing according to the doctor.  For the record the flu is a virus and has many different strains.  The shot only protects against certain ones that seem to be most likely to occur that year so it is still possible to get the flu after having the flu shot.  It just won't be one of the strains you were vaccinated against!

I do hope everyone is now feeling better.  The flu is really nasty and generally I'm out for about a week.  Drink fluids and keep the fever down as much as possible.
