Gretchen is wierd...

Normally Gretchen is a lovable girl, but has always made it quite clear I'm not her favorite person.  I'm a distant 3rd, unless someone else is here then I'm bumped down the list!  Elf is by far #1 and that's cool with everyone.  Well the last week or so she has been sticking very close to me and even pushing Cajsa out of the way to get to my lap.  I think it's because I'm pregnant even though she was doing it before I knew myself.  Cajsa is always very snuggly with me, but Gretchen has never really tried or wanted to snuggle with me.  I wonder if she will continue this after baby gets here?  Or if it's because of something else....

Could be she knows you are pregnant and is protecting you.  Especially since you said Elf was #1 with her, maybe she senses this new baby and will be equally taken with her.

I would guess it IS because you are bringing a new baby for her to take care of !!!  She wants to make sure you nurture it to her specs-LOL !!!!

When I was pregnant with Elf, Cajsa would drape herself across my tummy.  Or if she couldn't do that she'd push herself onto my lap and lay her head on my tummy.  She has always been very protective of me like that.  Before I miscarried last year she was the same way and Gretchen couldn't care less.  I just think it's funny that Gretchen has decided she likes me, or at least tolerates me for a while.  She even listens when I tell her to "sit!" and that was always 50/50 with her.
