I can't remember if I posted an update about baby girl's eye or not.  It seems as though it is an autoimmune thing.  So chalk it up to genetic predisposition!  I spoke with Dr. P about it and he had another dachie come in with the same thing only it was in both eyes and much more advanced.  He called the opthamologist to see what was going on and was told that it was the immune system of the dog causing it.  It also seems to happen in certain breeds and dachies are one of them.  So my poor baby girl dog is getting the short genetic stick it seems.  Gretch is out of the same litter and if I didn't know that I wouldn't even think they were related at all.  Cajsa is fragile and has the sensitive tummy/allergies, the back issues, and now the eye issue.  Gretchen could probably eat anything and not be bothered, not even a twinge in her back or anywhere else and I honestly can't remember the last time she was sick.

Oh April, is there anything they can do for her?

I was going to ask the same thing...anything they can do?

We can totally relate to the autoimmune situation as that had a lot to do with Penny's back problems. It is so frustrating when you don't have any control over it. I loved is (sarcastic of course) when they told me that it was in remission but could come back at any time. Just the way the ball bounces sometimes :verdict:.

As far as I know, there's nothing that can be done except to treat it when it comes up.  It's still not completely gone and seems to have stalled since it's not getting better (that I can tell).  Of course it's also not any worse thankfully.  I do hope it goes away and stays away for good!
