Zena Star of the Day --9/29/08---part2

[Merion]

Favorite Treat:  Peanut butter--- mom says I will jump through hoops for the peanut butter when she trains me with it on a wooden spoon. Zena also loves the blueberry and apple crunchy treats and some others that are soft.  Actually she likes all treats....typical doxie!!!!!

Favorite Things or Favorite Things to Do:  She loves to play with kids and to do the bite prevention at the schools with me.  She likes to explore anything she can get to!!!  She loves being under the blanket no matter how warm it is (even at 80 with no air conditioner running--mom says I am nuts 

Least Favorite Thing to have done or to do: Get the nails done or get wet!!!!!

Where I Sleep at Night:  In the big bed with mom and Zack .....Dad is gone most of the time.

I am a Hunter/Huntress -- Yes or No:  Yes. Unfortunately what she likes to hunt is bugs, toads and anything that is moving that I see.

What I do when my Hoomans are away:   I sleep most of the time but once in a while I will bark when I hear stuff.

Story about me that my Hoomans would like to share:
My mom was naughty.....she didn't get around to posting this when it happened.
As you know I have been showing Zena.  My friends Lynn and Anne got her 2 ( 4pt) majors in 1 weekend last Sept. I took her to a couple of other shows and we got Reserves at Several including this one to a almost 5pt (1 dog away) major at the Badger Specialty in March.  If you notice her nose she had worn the hair off the left side from burrowing ( the judges choice of words) under a dresser to get a bone .

Then I took her to the Madison Dachshund Club Specialty on June 28th and she got her 3rd major  to finish her championship. I actually showed her this time even though I tried like the devil to get someone else to show her.

Good thing she finished there.  I showed her as a special at our Paper Cities show.

The judge came up to us on the table and the first words out of his mouth were.  "Stubborn little German dogs"  :2funny: 
Every time I got her standing on the table she put her head down to look under the table or see what was on the table.

Story that I want to share about my Hoomans:
Mom loves top go to the shows and visit with the people there but she gets really nervous going into the ring.  She also loves taking me to the schools to meet with the kids ...it is so much fun...I really like to sniff them kids when they pretend they are logs and lay on the floor on their stomachs with their arms and hands covering their heads. They always start laughing when I do.

I think Merion missed one thing about Zena.  She really only has two speeds.  She can be a little snuggly, cuddly huggy bunny.....OR (sadly I dont enough about those smileys to use one for this. )

Her second speed and then she really should not be called Zena BUT

Zack says dis is TOO TOO TRUE!!!   Boy if YOU accidently are standing der when she comes flying thru.....WATCH OUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!! She will run right over you.

Poor Zack gets run over a lot!!

if you think she came to say hi, by the time you reach down to pet her she's at the other end of house!!  And yes, she can make it sound like a stampede and at least 200 doxies!!

BUT she is a sweetie and I swear sometimes I think Granny Twinkie Angel is up at Rainbow Bridge coaching her!!
