On the first anniversary of the passing of my beloved horse Domingo in August 2003, I received this in the mail.  It made a hard day a lot better, and I will treasure this gift forever.

Domingo in July 2002 just before he passed away.

Wow Patty that means it's been over 2 years. Doesn't seem possible, so much has happened since then, now you have Neeki, new house....time has a way of flying by. There will never be another horse as beautiful as Domingo though.

Its been just over three years, DD, since he died.  At the time, I never thought I would live thru it.  I can't believe its been three years and I've learned how to laugh again and feel completely happy about stuff again........like Neeki, who is now 1.5 years old.  She is SO sweet.  When the people came and looked at our house on Sunday, she was very friendly.  The lady sure enjoyed petting Neeki's nose and feeding her sandwich cookies.  Neeki was enjoying it too.

I won't feel any regrets moving to our new place since Domingo is over there in our front yard.  Here's how close we are to his garden.

THREE years? Now that doesn't seem possible at ALL! I never would have guessed. Man. I think it's great you are moving so close to Domingo's garden. That's perfect. Your new house is going to be just awesome. Neeki is almost old enough to start saddle breaking, are you going to do that soon or have you already started?

We haven't done anything with Neeki yet, but once we get settled in the new place we plan on starting to put stuff on her back so she gets used to the feel of it.  We won't actually get on her back until she's three, so that would be in the summer of 2007.  Out where we will be living, there's lots of room to train a youngster.  Lots of roads but no houses or traffic.......yet!  God willing, Jasper will still be around for a few more years and he will assist us in Neeki's training.  The youngsters seem to do a lot better when following a trusted older horse buddy.
