My cannings won a second and a third place ribbon, and my Raspberry Liqueur won a second place.  The peanut butter fudge didn't place, don't know why.  If anyone had asked me which one I thought would place, it would have been the fudge.  But the judges are just people too.  One year I almost didn't enter some macaroons that I made, but I had them made and thought what the heck, and they won me my first Grand Champion, so you never know.  I am happy.  I have managed to win at least one ribbon every year for the past 17 years......ever since I entered that picture of Domingo when he was three weeks old.

UPDATE --
I had my shrimp pita pocket first.  They take a pita and fill with lettuce, then a generous amount of shrimp, a couple tomato wedges, ranch dressing and a sprinkling of sunflower seeds.  It is SO good.  Dan had a BBQ pork sandwich and some corn fritters.  Then I had a corndog and Dan had some oysters.  I later bought some cheese curds and Dan had some fries.  In the middle of all this eating we had a glass of wine at the beer garden while it poured down rain.  It got nice out again in no time.  On the way out of the fair, Dan bought a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich to take home.  I was too stuffed and didn't take anything home.

Don't worry about the lack of a street address - I'll be able to sniff them out!

As soon as I've eaten, er, examined them thoroughly, I'll get back to you.  No thanks necessary - it's my patriotic duty.:occasion17:

Congratulations, Patty.   :apls:   I, too, am surprised that the fudge didn't place.   :dontknow:   But like the others, I need to know what you and Dan ate.  Did Dan get his Philly Cheesesteak?

NO THAT'S WHY I NEED IT SENT IMMEDIATELY.   SORRY I CAN'T SPELL--TWO YEARS OF SHORTHAND KINDS RUINS YOUR SPELLING.  GUESS I SHOULDA USED THE SPELLCHECK.

Good for you Patty! I'm not surprised, you are one of the best cooks I've ever known! So glad you are feeling well enough for the fair.  :thumb:
