I've been wondering the same thing also!

So far so good.  My office is closed tomorrow so I will be working from home. The building is right on the water so they close anytime we have a hurricane warning.   It appears that we are still in the "cone" but the storm is predicted to hit as a category 1.  We have thunderstorms in the summer that are most likely worse than that.  We should know more tomorrow morning.  If it hangs out over the gulf for any length of time it may intensify some so of course we are ready to leave if necessary.  Right now however, I'm not to worried.  The winds are starting to pick up a bit so the furkids are not all that happy.  Hard to do your business after supper when the wind gusts are strong!

I hope everyone stays safe there and you have very little, if any damage. The folks here in S.C. are excited about Faye. She is coming in the perfect direction for us to get some much needed rain from her. We've said all along that we needed a Category one storm or a tropical storm to come up through the panhandle of Florida so we could get some of the rain. That way it would cause little damage, not bother our oil production, and we might eventually get out of this drought. We really need this to happen a few times, but we'll take just once and be happy!

Canine Hurricane Rating System:

Tropical Storm - Yorkies blown into next yard.  Mini Dachshunds lift their leg and get knocked down.

Hurricane One - Yorkies become airborne projectiles.  Mini dachshunds flatten into ditch and refuse to come.  Standards refuse to go outside.  Border collies fail to comprehend the fuss.

Hurricane Two - Yorkies - gone.  Mini doxies - gone.  Standards - under your bed.  Border collies - trying to fetch tree limbs flying by.  Dobermans on full alert for windblown burglars.  Mastiffs sleeping.

Hurricane Three - Yorkies - gone.  Minis - gone.  Standards - house and bed gone.  Border collies - fetching trees becoming problematic.  Dobermans - remain on guard duty where front door used to be.  Mastiffs - still sleeping in former den.

Hurricane Four - Yorkies land in Illinois, rescued by local shelter.  Doxies and standards - last seen up I-95 north of Elkton, Maryland.  Border collies - trying to herd zoo animals on loose.  Dobermans - on guard for looters at concrete foundation of former home.  Mastiffs - staying put in the den, practicing the L@@K, "I had NOTHING to do with THIS mess!!"
