HSUS Petition NOT to Abandon Pets in Disasters

Good morning all.  I came across this site and wanted to share it with everyone.

I know we've all been saddened by the images and stories of all of the animals who have been abandoned in the wake of Katrina.  I know not one of us would ever consider evacuating and leaving our beloved Dachshunds behind to fend for themselves.  This petiton is targeted to go to Congress once they reach their goal of 100,000 signatures.  It is sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States.

Please take a moment to visit this site and sign the petition so our voices can be heard on behalf of our beloved animals who cannot speak for themselves.

Thanks for posting this !!!  It has been horrifying to see those fur kids wondering around...and knowing what will ultimately happen to them.  I couldn't understand why the rescue boats would not take pets - makes no sense to me at all.
