Female, Spayed, B&T 9 year old Short haired dachshund.  Housebroken. Runs good. Some recent body work. New collar and rabies tag.

New owners should be deaf.

I'll raise your bet to one B&T male who barks at anything that displeases him (EVERYTHING displeases him) and one C&T male who will bark if anyone else is barking. The result....  two dogs barking nonstop.  No, seriously when we had our two crated after spine issues (not at the same time) we had them on Valium and it made all of the difference in the world!!!!!  Talk to the vet about something that will help quiet Loki.

I guess we were lucky with Penny. She would whine some during her 8 weeks of crating but she was really good.

Awwwww Loki girl - you are just ready to be healed !!!  Les - have you tried Rescue Remedy or something to help calm her down?  Maybe a call to the vet for something to mellow her out?

why yes, Molson Golden, but that just makes her clingy and lickie.

No seriously, I did give her  a 1/4 pill of 2.5 mg Valium last night.  It was the first night she was allowed to visit around the house "NO RUNNING, JUMPING OR PLAYING" but she did sit quietly with me while I wrote a few checks at my desk.  So the combination of getting enough freedom to hang out with mom and a tiny bit of tranquilzers (hey! mom took two just joking) did really help.

With our two boys the valium really helped them to relax and quiet down.  I still want someone to explain to me why dogs that normally sleep 23 hours and 45 minutes a day have a problem with crate rest!!!!!  You would think that they would be all for the crate but ohh noooo!  All they want is out! out! OUT!!!.....  ...so they can find a comfortable spot to sleep! go figure.  And they are so vocal about it too.
