Jude Update

Hi All,

Been too busy to write; but, I thought you might like an update on Jude's progress.   :thumb:

First, a few thank yous! 

To Dee, Dave, Sargie & Dugge for the treat box filled with special gifts for all the kids.  Dee's hand-made fleece blankets are beautiful and a big hit.  The girls have taken them for their own and built fleece mountains to bury into.  If I need to look for Jude or Dottie, this is where I go first. 

To Winston and Zoe (Cheryl), for a Petsmart gift card for Jude.  I have already used a piece of it to buy Jude a special feeding dish (more on this later) and who knows what treats still lie ahead!

Jude's back-bone has disappeared and she has filled out nicely.  Her coat is slick and her ears are like black velvet.  Her dapples show up much better now since her fur is very black and slick.  She looks great! 

Jude is also spoiled rotten...not by us; but, by some previous owner.  Jude does have aggressive tendencies; but, I believe they may have been encouraged.  She loves to play "tug" and "chase the toy"; but, she growls and bares her teeth at her playmate like she's going to tear them in half!  Hmmm...this will take some work.  Someone has also sprayed her with a spray bottle.  She was petrified of the Windex bottle when I washed the bathroom mirror!

She is very food agressive (aw, gee Ma, I was starving) and she bolts her food and then chases the others away so that she can eat theirs.  Not so fast girlie!  I found a special bowl with bars in it that forces her to slow down.  Jude doesn't like the bowl; but, veryone else is much happier!

She loves to snuggle on the sofa or in bed.  She will dive into the pillow case on the big bed and wants to slip inside, on the pillow!  All are still adapting; but, each day brings a new discovery.  Like barking...oh, my she is a loud little one!  How so much noise can come out of such a little body is beyond me.  No one will ever sneak into this house quietly...not with Sgt Jude on duty!       

She is still MY dog!  Ken says she looks for me and cries for a little while when I go out.  She is happy chasing squirrels and playing in the yard.  She runs with her tail straight up in the air and when it wags, her whole body wags.  She appears to be enjoying her life here.
 
So, thanks to everyone for their support.  Jude is doing fine!

Oh my Dianne....it brought a tear to my eyes to read your update about Jude......We are so glad she is doing well.  It's wonderful.... and we just have to do the happy dance    You are welcome for the gift card.  Glad you found something you could really use.  When you can, please post a picture of Jude and Dottie for us.  Would love to see the girls snuggling in their new blankets   It sounds like Jude is making great progress.  God Bless you all....Cheryl

What a GREAT update!  You have done wonderfully with this sweet girl.  Good idea for the food bowl! I'm impressed that you are really WORKING WITH her and truly reinforcing positive behavior.  You've done beautifully by Miss Jude!

That is amazing news!!!  So what is the name of the bowl you got? Sounds like something Penny needs - she wolfs her food down like no other!!

Go girlie, sounds just like my Angel Emma, and she looks a lot b&t, does girls have attitude. Sounds as if she is settling in and training all and sundrie.

Happy to hear that all are settling in!  Glad the girls like the blankets!  Mine love their fleece even in the summer time......they will curl up in them when the house gets too cool for them with the air conditioning.  Dee

Thank you so much for the update - I have been wondering about her !!!   How fun that she is YOUR baby !!!!  I love that she goes inside the pillowcase - my Brandy does that too !!!!  And when my Brandy found her voice, like Jude - she is REALLY loud !!!!  With your love, she will blossom and it sounds like she has a great start !!!  Keep us posted !
