cute! What did Eddie do? Yesterday, Gretchen was having a barkfest at her window. I look out and there are 2 bunnies making babies. I tried to get her to turn her back to them and give them a little privacy, but there was no way! She sooooo wanted to go through that window! Ilsa, her back-up, was right there with her.

Eddie gave chase, but of course da bunny was too fast.  We've had bunnies around for years, but they never came this close to the house.  AND last week there were ducks in the neighbors yard - pictures to follow tomorrow.

Randy seems to think that Schatzi will be quieter when she isn't hearing our neighbor going in and out of his condo all the time. He hasn't thought about all the critters she will see and want to bark at. I've decided to not tell him and let him find out for himself.! We've been told there his a family of groundhogs that live on the street we are moving to. One of the neighbors is trying to trap them and move them. Even though they are fun to watch, they eat the plants and flowers. If they are still there when we get there, it could get quite interesting...

Mom uploaded these dis morning:
Ducks - I didn't bark just watched them

Bunny's best side

Still no barking

Marcia here:  I was so proud of Eddie when he saw the ducks he didn't bark, just sat and watched.

Wow! That is cool! It sounds like Eddie did what Gretchie does when we go to Petsmart and Ron shows her the rats. Her ears perk up and her eyes light up and she doesn't move a muscle. I know she's breathing, but you can't even see her chest move. Not a peep out of her until Ron starts carrying her away. Then she's like a 2 year old wanting an ice cream cone. Luckily, she's easily distracted.

Eddie - dat looks like de bunnies dat are runnin' around our neighborhood.  Mama thinks it is so funny to see how still they sit when we come out.....sometimes we miss them !

Keep twyin' - you will get her !

that bring back a memory...

I kinda live out in the sticks. It seems one fall I had an invasion of mice in the house. My dear departed Simon loved to hunt them down and chomp them up.

One morning I woke up at about 2:00 am to use the bathroom. So I'm standing there doing my business and I hear this eeek eeek eeek and in my sleep addled mind I'm thinking "what the hell". I finished my business, walked into the hallway and turned on the light. Low and behold I can't beleave my eyes.....two mice doing the shagnasty right in my hallway.

I'm like "SIMON, GET EM!" and he come flying out of the bedroom full speed, slid to a stop on the laminate floor and chomped both mice in mid coitus.

LOLOLOLOL

I miss that dog like nobodies business.

LOL I get a kick out of these stories. Good boy Eddie to go "pointer" on the ducks! Hallie has yet to try to chase a duck or rabbit or squirrel. She does however bark at cats out her window (but she loves them when we meet them anywhere else but in her own yard). If she sees a bird out the window here and she's on my lap, I've seen her a few times perk right up, then she will relax when she realizes it's a bird and not something more exciting. Even though the bird is walking on the ground. Amazing how they figure out what's what.

Poor Gretchie. LOL!!! If she could only speak "rabbit" she'd have told them a thing or two about over populating the planet with more bunnies we can't feed. (or more likely, something not along those lines at all LOL).  I can envision the whole thing!

JetEd73 you have me flat on the floor with that one!  :2funny: That creates some great visuals.

OMG, JedEd73!!! That is so funny when it happens at someone else's house!!!!!!!!    :2funny:  :2funny:

Shortly after Rudy passed on, we caught a pair of squirrels (the Rudy would always tree) doing the nasty on our deck.   Someone quipped "It was like being at a victory party for a war that you lost"

Good job on the rabbit chasing Eddie.   Zeke will chase squirrels, usually halfheartedly.   Zora could care less about them.

When Max was getting into his final years, we once witnessed him and a squirrel on the deck, passing in opposite directions like two ships in the night, and neither deviated from their course.

Be careful buddy!  Dose bunnies weally wike to torture sometimes!  Jus' yestaday, da bunny was taunting me.  She stood at da edge of da yard, right where my tie-out ends.  Den she would jump "in da zone".  I would run towards her and she would wait till I got wight dere and take off.  Nearly snapped my neck off!    Don't worry, I'm not a dumb boy, I didn't fall for it again. I jus' growled at her from da porch.

:2funny: What FUNNY stories!  Oh my (she says, wiping the tears).

Hey Porky, you remind me of the DAWG in the Foghorn Leghorn cartoons.  Foggy was ALWAYS taunting that ol' hound dawg and would make him run to the end of his leash with a GACK....WHEEEZE and THUD.  Don't let dat bunny hurt your little neck, y'hear?

Have yet to see a bunny in my yard we have a darn ole privacy fence, squirrels are a different story I chase them all the time I never caught one yet. Sometimes my big brother Buddy helps me he should catch them he has long legs but I do not think he tries very hard.

Oh we've had many critters invade the sanctuary of Eddie's yard.  A few years back when Sully Angel was alive we had a woodchuck torment the boys until the neighbor turned the hose on it.  Then one fall evening I caught Sully and Eddie playing tug-o-war with a dead possum.  Then there was the time Eddie literally had a run in with a squirrel which cause him to have a nick on the inside  of his ear, but Eddie still WANTED TO  GET THE SQUIRREL.  And finally there was the time I was outside and the boys(Sam angel and Eddie)wouldn't leave the side of the porch because there was a dead squirrel there.

As for the bunny Eddie will just sit silently and watch it.

Who cares? All mice should die gruesome horrible deaths.
