It's Zeke's Barkday!

We're posting a little bit early, but our little boy turns 6 on Monday, May 12th. Time has definitely flown. I can remember pet-setting Zeke as a puppy while Rudy "schooled" him on the ways of being a good boy dachsie. Now safely ensconced in dachsie middle-agedom, Zeke did learn a few lessons from Rudy, but put his own unique spin on it. Zeke is the perennial "happy tail". Sometimes, I can feel him try to wag his tail, even when he is sitting on it. It feels like he is shaking his backside. Zeke really is everything a male dachshund should be: Loyal, intelligent, sometimes brash, reasonably obedient, aggressive in voice, but not in actions, and the list goes on. Please join us in wishing Zeke a happy barkday.

Aw, Zeke! Happy Barkday! Does this mean you are going to get scrambled eggies? Enquiring minds wanna know. I almost got to meet Zeke and Zora about 5 1/2 years ago, I think. Yamisi was planning to drive up from Los Angeles to see my 3-pack and me, but she spent most of the Thanksgiving vacation visiting someone in the hospital. We were this close...does she still adore the movie, "The Shawshank Redemption", I wonder? I found a screenplay of it someplace here in town, and sent it to her shortly after that.

Thanks everyone for the barkday wishes! It was cold and rainy in Maryland, but Zeke had a happy barkday.

Delia, Zeke is considered a blue/tan. His sire was a straight blue and his dam was a chocolate/tan, virtually identical to Zora. Zeke and Zora are half-siblings, they came from consecutive litters, both had the same dam but different sires. There is definitely some strong semblance between the two of them.

Zeke's fairly unique color always seems to garnish him more attention than Zora, even though Zora is much closer to the breed standard, and her coat is magnificent. Zeke enjoys the attention, though, he's definitely a ham and a scene stealer...note the other post about the picture.
