Of all my dachsies, unique to Zora is how she moves about to follow the sunbeam or get a more comfortable position.   Zeke, Rudy-angel and Max-angel would either get up, move and lie down again, or simply wriggle along.    Not Zora, she gets up, but not all the way.   She only lifts herself just high enough for her belly to barely clear the ground.  Then she literally crawls to a new spot and flattens out again.   It looks like she is trying to do the limbo or something!  I've never seen any other dachshund do this.

Roberta

sounds like a girlie thing Amy, shuffles and shimmies and flollows the sun beam.

How about a picture dad ?!?!?!?!?!   When Rudy gets up after a nap - he will always do the frog stretch and he really drags his legs a long way - I love it.

How cute does that sound!!!! Solly is black and tan and has never really basked in the sun for a long period of time.  But I agree a picture would be great to see.

Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.

Dee Dee and Hallie

I love it when they do that, so cute! Hallie is a champion sunbeam crawler too. If the sun isn't out, and I open the shades in the morning, she will run over to where the sun usually is and will look confused when it's not there and then lay down and give me the saddest l@@k....(treats are then dispensed).

I won't say Twinkie angel followed Sunbeams BUT at times she would do this strange crawl.  I used to call her a seal when she did it.  Her back end would be totally flat and she would pull herself forward with her front feet !!!  Sadly I did not get pics of her doing that!!

The first few times she did it she scared the heck out of me because I was afraid something was wrong!!  But then she would get up and walk around normally!!  Especially if I waved a treat at her!!

Porky likes to just roll over to stay in the sun.  He moves in a circle till one side is completely baked, then roll over and do the other side.  The sunbeam crawl sounds really cute and funny!! I agree a video or at least a picture sounds great!!!   :hello2:
