Hope this works.
Jude is getting better every day. She is a bit camera shy.

She looks so sweet. I have a feeling that she will make someone a great friend someday. I still wonder how she ended up on the street. Almost wonder if something bad happened to her owner. What I really wonder is what happened to her while she was out wandering around, apparently for a long time, or what happened while she was in that shelter. The fact that she changed so much once you brought her into your home speaks volumes. It lets you know the environment she was used to.
Do you think she can emotionally handle being vetted next week. I know it needs to be done, but I was wondering if there is a chance she will freak out when she gets there. The medicinal smells may remind her of the shelter. Could they give her a sedative before you bring her in, or make sure she is there and on something to keep her calm for as short a time as possible after her surgery. She has done so well and it breaks my heart to think of her losing any ground at all.
I still tear up to think of her being so scared at the shelter. Thank you so much for stepping in and saving her.

Oh my gosh what a precious puppers! Thank you SO much for giving her a second chance! It can be amazing how they will turn around in the right hands. She obviously had no more reason left to trust and was scared to death poor little girl. You are an angel for taking her in. She looks so young, how old do you think she is?

I think you're on target, Teresa, that she was probably well-treated and the shelter experience has her traumatized. :thinik:

When Guinness bit my neighbors' twill pants leg* and got 10 days solitary confinement for suspected rabies, I drove down to see him the first day.  He was SO scared, he wouldn't come to the front of the kennel to me!  He sat at the back shaking and quivering!  Now, in Baltimore City's shelter, the resident population is 49% rottweiler/mix and 49% pit bull/mix and 2% everyone else.  So a 6 pound wiener is like an hors d'oeuvre and the noise level was frightening!

After five minutes of coaxing, he finally came to the chain link fencing in the front of the kennel, where I could scratch his poor nose!  He never re-housetrained after that. :comfort:

Good for Miss Judy-Jude! :thumb:

Some people do not know that in most cases of a dog bite the offending dog has 2 options dog pound (shelter) or you can pay for boarding at your vets office.Years ago one of my 6 month old pup fell or jumped over the fence to play with a little boy next door. The boy ended up with a small scratch on his cheek of course it bled allot. While  my hubby & the Momma were freaking out I just took the pup up to my vets and boarded her for the 10 days. That way the pup was taken away from the situation everyone cooled down when the animal control showed up they could not do anything because it was already taken care of. I for one do not trust animal control to not put the dog down before the 10 days are up they have too many mix ups for me.

OMG, what a change from what you had described.  Jude is a sweetie...her eyes are so expressive!  I am so glad that you went back for her and that she has a second chance.

I just have to convince my husband that we can still handle 3 doxies.  I think I'll just show him Jude's picture and he'll melt.
