Too funny!

Now that the snow has melted, my doxie can go on more walkies - she loves it and my waist line can use it!  Thought I'd post a funny "run in" - my dox had her first encounter with a cat.  Being in a rural area, we have a lot of "everyone cats" - they do belong to someone, but they are so free-range that they are fed and pet and taken care of by just about everyone in the neighborhood.  They are fearless creatures!  Schatzie and I were strolling down the street.  I saw the cat behind the garbage can, but I guess she did not.  Garbage cans smell soooooo good to a doxie - perhaps a cat smells goooood, too.  She came face to face with a cat and simply did not know what to think!  It was the funniest thing!!! Schatzie looked at the cat basking in the sun, paying her no mind, she looked at me, the tail wagged a little, she looked at the cat who now was acting a little bothered that her patch of sunlight was being encrouched upon - Schatzie kept looking at the cat to me, to the cat back to me like she was saying "WHAT THE HECK?!" - all the while, her little tail wagging.  The cat stood up, stretched and walked away.  Once it was safely waaaay out of reach, Schatzie set up a howl!  Of course, it was all for show, she never once tugged at the leash - no attempt to go after the cat, she just wanted the whole neighborhood to know how tough she was.  The cat, I'm sure, was unimpressed. It gave me a good laugh.

Oh, yeah, Mister Cat??  Dat's it, just walk away, Buddy Boy!!  I'd show you if my Mommy would jus' let go of dis leash."

"O.K., Schatzi, honey, go show that kitty what you're made of!"

WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!  Isn't there a leash law here???  I wouldn't want to break the law, after all!"
