I was trying to take a nap on the couch and Cleo kitty jumped up and lay down next to me.  All of a sudden she gave a little shudder then went into a full blown seizure.  I grabbed her, hugged her as I petted her and talked to  her softly.  Then she clamped her mouth down on my new slip cover and held onto it until the seizure was over.  It lasted a good 20 to 30 seconds and she got really stiff afterwards which gradually subsided.  After a few minutes of disorientation she came around and is now her old ornery self.

She's never had one before, so now I'll have to watch her.  The kitty mind meld is at work right now and she is saying she is hungry so I have to feed her.

Oh Marcia - how scary !   Having just been there - I know you must be exhausted watching over her.  Keep us posted and sending Cleo kitty many rays !

Thx Barb, Cleo kitty is back to normal - she smacked Eddie on the nose for sniffing her.

Poor thing! I hope she is feeling better now. Is a vet appt in order or just a wait and watch?

Marcia, sorry to hear about Cleo kitty.  Let's hope this was a ONE time thing.  You're such a good mommy.

At least this time I was home to take care of her.  A few years back when I had my Siamese Calico mix Fluffy she went into convulsions while I was outside shoveling snow and by the time I got in the house she was in full blown seizure mode.  We rushed her to the Emergency vet, but  were too late.  Cleo kitty is much better even complaining about the new cat food I bought them.  She now sits at the bottom of the couch ramp and refuses to let Eddie climb up it, so he sits there pitifully waiting for me to remove her.
