What kind of bed does your doxie like (when not on the Big Bed)?

I know, I know, most doxies are gonna say the big bed is their bed, and Schatzi agrees 100%, BUT the big bed will not fit in our kitchen when we move and that is where she will be spending her days when we are at work (with Molly and a doggie door to the outside world). I need to purchase a bed for her to have in there and thought I would find out what most of the doxies on her like. I'm thinking of the Snuggle Sack something of the sort, but don't want it to be too hot for the summer months. My plan is to go ahead and purchase it now so she will decide she likes it and also to break up some of those last minute moving expenses, especially since I have to purchase a doggie door and a bed for Molly, too, along with adding to the fence, etc (and that's just the four-legged's part of the house).
I promise all the doxies here, Schatzi and Molly will NOT be deprived of the big bed. They will still have access to it when we are home.

All the dachsies I have had (five total) like the soft beds with the soft side walls that have a front opening where the short legged doggies can easily crawl in and out, and that have a separate pad in the bottom for extra softness.  I sometimes place one of my old nightgowns in there after I have slept in it one last time, so that they are comforted by mom-stink.

My boys have a big round pillow style bed -- I think it's 42 inches in width.  It is quite soft and they can snuggle down in and then I have their blankies just laying on top of that.  That way if they want to burrow, they can nose under all the blankets or they can sleep on top of them.  It's big enough for both of them to share which they do.  I have one in the living room and one in the office. Also, the covers which is a material on the bottom with fleece/lambwool on top and they are removeable so very washable!  Dee

Penny absolutely loves her slumber ball. It looks really fluffy and too big at first but she has gotten it just right now...she hates when I wash the cover and mess up her next. We have that with blankets on top and she burrows right in. She prefers that to sitting with us sometimes!

I took a queen sized foam "egg crate" style pad and folded into a square.(A five dollar special) Then I made a fleece cover for it. When I swap out the cover I unfold it and put it outside to air.  The only problem with this is I would prefer if it were washable.  I have hosed it down once or twice, but it is so heavy when full of water it feels like it will tear until it dries out a little. This is really soft and warm and big enough for two.

For Loki's crate I took an old down coat, turned it inside and made a pillow case for it.  Zuzu has a little sleeping bag that I made with a pad inside.

On the whole, though, I prefer beds that are washable.  I ususally use hot water and Lysol for their bedding.

The Quad has one big foam pillow type bed that they all snuggle up together in.  They like it best when the blankets that Auntie Dee made are in it with them.  Then they each get a blanket to cover up with...except for Buelah who does NOT like being under the blankets.  She prefers to scrunch hers up under herself until she manages the perfect "nest".  Sometimes takes that girl ten minutes to get her bed just the way she wants it!

I love Barb's computer room beds. I could see Schatzi in those for sure. I also like Penny's snuggle ball. I think I may pick one of each. Of course, my first thought had been the one that Jeri described. Too bad I can't bring them home and let her try them out!
Barb, where did you get the beds? Are they Chilly Dog beds? I keep saying I'm going to attempt to make Schatzi one, but that hasn't happened and I don't think it will in the next couple of months. Maybe before next winter, sometime.
Molly will get either one of the beds that are made our of webbing on an aluminum frame so it is above the floor a little. That is what she had before we got her and she loved it. Since she has been with us, she has always been on our bed, but I really think she would prefer the other since she is so hot natured. I also have some of the egg crate foam I am going to cover for her to have on the floor if she needs something different.
