if I don't supply them for her.  Mean Mom  :angry1: that I am, I had not given her a stinkie in quite some time, although I have a couple of them on hand that I have saved for her.  For those of you who are lost, a stinkie is what Skeeter and I call those smelly perfume cards that you find in magazines and advertisements.  Skeeter loves to roll on them, which is okay because there are worse things she could roll in.  Sunday she did find one of those worse things.

She came in from outdoors and I heard Kevin say, "Oh Skeeter!"  Then I heard the choking and gagging noises he began making :eeew: He always does this when confronted with vomit or poo.  I have never seen him spew from exposure to it, but he always threatens to do so  :puke:

Sure 'nuff, she had found her very own stinkie outside, and it was a doosie!  We think that maybe a wild creature had visited the yard, because it had a gamey quality that was worse than anything known to have come from my kids' butts.  It was all over her back and collar, ground in deeply in parts, but there were still nice juicy chunks just waiting to get wiped on my carpet, furniture, etc.  Then I heard Kevin ask, "what did you do?"  BIG MISTAKE!  :badidea:

You see, Skeeter's favorite trick is to roll over and play dead.  We didn't teach her this, we just taught her to do it on command.  She has always played dead, usually when she doesn't want to obey a command, or when she is scolded.

YOU GOT IT!  She began to roll over on her back onto the carpet.  Without thinking, we both said, "no, no, no!"   :nono: This only insured that she was going all the way over!!!!  Now I had a carpet to clean as well!

Oh she got her bath.   :bath2:  She is very good about baths, but after being lathered the third time, she did bare teeth at me :mumum:  Kevin was given the job of washing the pretty NEW leather collar with pink posies that I had just bought her.  He washed and washed, and when I was done bathing Skeeter I took over and washed it some more.  It took some doing, but I got rid of the poopie smell--there was no way I was throwing out a pricey two week old collar!

After she dried, I decided that if Skeeter wanted to stink that bad, then I would help her.  She got a fresh Mommy Approved Stinky!  :icon_flower:

Oh  any Skeeter you are too much.  I agree with Barb one stinky a week for the sweet girl.

Talking about the collar when I worked rescue a woman called and asked if we would adopt out her lb for her.  So I sent her the paperwork and heard from her a week later - the lab had tangled with a skunk and despite all the baths and deskunking tries she still smelled and did we  have any ideas?  We gave her more ideas, but none worked.  Several weeks later the woman called ,e and stated her lab was ready for adoption AND the skunk smell(faint but still there)was locked in the dog's collar.  Needless to say the lab found a new home and a new collar.

LOL! This made my day:) Sorry! I actually had a foster Candy do this to me on Saturday night after the Doxie Fest. I found out when a potential adopter showed up at Jill and Neil's camper (next to ours and after dark) , which was were we were and wanted to see her. Needless to say they changed their minds:( Probably wouldn't have been a good home anyway. :nana2: Anyway I gave my first doxie bath in the camper and had to use people shampoo:( It is now stocked with dog shampoo.

Sue,

It's best not to let the furkids read these posts.  It gives them ideas--BAD ideas! LOL!

LOL!  I loved the stories.

When I fuss at Dottie when I catch her about to roll in something stinky in the yard
she'll look at me & then do a mock head rub over it.
I swear I can just see her sticking her touge out saying "Ha!  Moma I'm doing it anyway!"
They are something & super at getting around any obsticle.
Gotta love em!
