Lily on the move

It's been interesting to watch the changes in Lily as she gets to explore more around the house and at different heights. We've given her limited use of a walker and one thing she finds fascinating is that she can watch the furkids a little more closely. They're no longer these creatures way down below the high chair or our arms. Most of the dogs just get out of her way when she trudges along the room. For example, the other day Lily was headed straight for a wall, so Willie (our black and tan senior) races toward the front of the walker to place himself between Lily and the wall.

Was Willie throwing himself in there to protect Lily (she was in no danger)? No, he had spotted one of his favorite chew toys that Lily was about to run over. And he wasn't going to let that happen. Without stopping, he raced in front, grabbed the dinosaur chewy and darted away -- saving his favorite chew toy from imminent destruction and quite proud of himself!

Now Willy (our red piebald), on the other hand, wants to make sure he is by Lily's side. You'll see pictures here of his affection. He was also attracted to her diapers, which he tugged on from beneath the stroller, but was quick to heed or reprimand on that. Willy just adores Lily.

You also see one of our bassets Bella, showing her grumpiness over being dislodged from her napping spot on the kitchen doggie bed. Bella just had some dental work done, so she still has some stitches which you might be able to see as Lily looks behind as if to say, "What's your problem?''

I love the pictures. She she is growing fast. I love the last one. It looks like Lily is saying "Do you have a problem or something?" I think it is so sweet that Willy wants to stay beside her Willie wants to protect her. I think your little girl is going to be quite safe growing up with all the furkids around.
